ĐBP - After years of implementation, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has encouraged many producers to improve product quality, refine production processes, build brands and expand markets. As tourism increasingly shifts toward deeper, experience-based development, integrating OCOP products into tourist experiences is seen as a way to create more sustainable added value for both products and destinations.

ĐBP - Điện Biên is home to 19 ethnic groups with numerous distinct traditional cultural values in festivals, costumes, cuisine, and customs, with the entire province currently holding 24 national intangible cultural heritages alongside majestic natural landscapes, establishing major potential for Điện Biên to exploit and develop tourism.

ĐBP - When rains have grown sufficient to nourish green sprouts, terraced fields across the highlands of Điện Biên burst into life. From Kê Nênh village at the mountain foot, Pu Nhi in the valley, to the Sín Chải stone plateau, the green color of young rice stretches over hill slopes, winding along mountain ridges to create a natural picture both majestic and poetic.

ĐBP - Moving beyond a historical land tied to the world-renowned victory, Điện Biên today is affirming its position on the tourism map through pristine natural beauty and a unique cultural treasure trove. Majestic landscapes, close-to-nature experiences, and blended indigenous cultural identity create a distinct appeal, turning Điện Biên into an attractive destination for visitors from near and far.

ĐBP - Possessing immense potential and advantages in tourism resources - especially historical, cultural, and natural values, along with ethnic identities - Điện Biên is focusing on diversifying tourism products, stepping up image promotion, and building and connecting domestic and international tours and routes.

ĐBP - From humble gifts of the mountains and forests, many specialties of Điện Biên are step-by-step asserting their position in the tourism gift market. The process of investing in processing, brand building, quality standardization, and developing OCOP products has generated momentum to elevate agricultural values and expand consumption outlets, while transforming each specialty into an “ambassador” spreading cultural identity and promoting the image of Điện Biên to domestic and international tourists.

ĐBP - Branching off from National Highway 12, the road leading into Thèn Pả village in Na Sang commune, Điện Biên province winds along the mountainside, occasionally hiding beneath the canopy of an old-growth forest. After nearly 10 kilometers of navigating winding slopes and conquering the final hill, Thèn Pả appears first as a faint speck, before its black stone roofs gradually unveil a refreshing green hue nestled in the heart of a tiny valley.

ĐBP - In Sín Thầu, a border commune at the westernmost tip of the Fatherland, there are “venerable giants” in the hearts of the people. They are the village elders, lineage heads, and reputable individuals - people who persistently and resiliently preserve cultural identity, nurture solidarity, and serve as anchors so that fine values can endure across generations.

ĐBP - For the first time, Điện Biên has adopted a dedicated resolution to support tourism product development through a comprehensive policy framework covering infrastructure, tourism products, businesses, and digital promotion. More than addressing long-standing bottlenecks, Resolution No.16/2026/NQ-HDND introduces a new approach to tourism development - one driven by the active participation of local communities, businesses, and digital storytellers.

ĐBP - There are lands for relaxation, there are destinations for exploration, but there are also places where every footstep of a tourist becomes a journey back to history. Điện Biên is such a land.

ĐBP - In the westernmost region of the country, the A Pa Chải flagpole on the Khoan La San mountain range in Sín Thầu commune stands as a sacred symbol of national sovereignty and ethnic pride.

ĐBP - Amidst the borderlands of Sín Thầu, a small lotus pond quietly shows off its colors, preserving the historical story of Heroic Martyr Trần Văn Thọ - the border guard soldier who dedicated his entire heart to the local people and the westernmost land of the Fatherland.

ĐBP - From June 22 to 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Điện Biên province organized a working delegation to China to survey, exchange management experiences, develop tourism, and promote cultural and tourism cooperation with Yunnan province.
