At the working session, both sides focused on discussing and advancing tourism cooperation between Điện Biên and Bokeo provinces. Discussions aimed at strengthening connections between management authorities and tourism businesses, sharing information regarding tourism potential, offerings, and visitor reception conditions, and progressively establishing a foundation for joint tourism programs linking the two localities.
The two sides exchanged views and proposed strengthening cooperation in culture and tourism, prioritizing the establishment of a cooperative relationship between Bokeo’s Department of Culture and Tourism and Điện Biên’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. They also discussed studying facilitation mechanisms for tourist exchange, transport, and reception, as well as organizing automobile and motorbike caravan tours along the Laos - Việt Nam - Laos route with connections to Thailand.
Both parties reached consensus on enhancing information exchange and coordinating communication and promotion of each locality’s culture and tourism. In addition, they agreed to organize alternating exchange, study, and professional experience-sharing programs, thereby helping expand cooperation, boost cultural and tourism exchanges, and strengthen the special friendship and solidarity between the two provinces.
Following the meeting, the two delegations surveyed several local tourism service establishments to assess physical infrastructure, products, and visitor services, moving forward with cooperation contents and establishing tourism route connectivity between Điện Biên and Bokeo.
