Điện Biên successfully holds the 12th “Uncle Ho’s Good Children” Congress

ĐBP - This morning (March 29), the Điện Biên provincial Youth Union - the provincial Council of the Young Pioneers Organization held the 12th “Uncle Ho’s Good Children” Congress in 2025.

Attending the congress were comrades: Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Vừ A Bằng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies; along with 150 representatives of “Uncle Ho’s Good Children,” representing 147,000 young pioneers and children across the province.

During the 2020 - 2025 period, with the active participation of 266 Young Pioneer detachments and the efforts of 147,000 young pioneers and children, the work of the Young Pioneers and children’s movements in the province achieved comprehensive development with many outstanding accomplishments. Many meaningful educational activities attracted the attention of various sectors and levels, gaining widespread approval and high evaluation from society. These affirmed the role of the Hồ Chí Minh Young Pioneers Organization in nurturing, caring for, and educating local children.

Through the movement “Good Study - Good Work,” local young pioneers and children have actively explored and engaged in learning, participating in competitions such as “Math Olympiad for Kids,” “English Olympiad,” “Online Math Contest,” and the “Vietnamese Language Exchange Contest.” All Young Pioneer detachments maintained and effectively implemented emulation movements such as “Ten-Point Flower,” “Clean Notebooks with Beautiful Handwriting,” “Overcoming Difficulties to Study Well,” and “Studying Regularly, Studying Fully, Studying Hard.”

 Nearly 5,960 study clubs, hobby clubs, and children’s rights clubs have been established. All Young Pioneer detachments have organized reading activities and followed the Young Pioneers’ newspaper, fostering a reading habit among children, with over 400,000 children participating.

The Standing Committee of the provincial Youth Union and the provincial Young Pioneers Council of Điện Biên have mobilized the construction of 27 “Khăn quàng đỏ” (Red Scarf) houses and “Houses of happiness,” with a total value of VND 1.35 billion. Cultural, artistic, sports, youth broadcasting, and school radio activities continue to be effectively maintained. The province has established and sustained more than 2,000 cultural and artistic clubs with nearly 350,000 children participating. All Young Pioneer detachments have organized communication activities for children about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, stimulants, and social evils, reaching nearly 380,000 children. Additionally, many meaningful movements, new creative and beneficial activity models have been implemented, creating an exciting emulation atmosphere in Young Pioneer grassroots organizations.

Speaking at the Congress, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường praised and congratulated the outstanding achievements of young pioneers and children across the province in recent times. He urged Party committees, authorities, and the entire political system of the province to continue prioritizing, leading, and directing efforts to better care for, educate, and protect young pioneers and children. He emphasized the need to strengthen investment in infrastructure, schools, playgrounds, living conditions, and healthcare to create the best possible environment for children to learn, play, train, and grow, especially for children in particularly difficult circumstances and those living in remote and border areas.

The Standing Committee of the provincial Youth Union and the provincial Young Pioneers Council must continue innovating and improving the quality of the content and operational methods of the Youth Union and Young Pioneers at all levels in the province. It is essential to enhance supervision of the implementation of the Law on Children and other policies and regulations of the Party and State regarding children’s care, education, and protection. The committee should proactively propose policies and programs to support the comprehensive development of children.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee also encouraged young pioneers and children to continue striving, studying, and training harder to fulfill the five teachings of President Hồ Chí Minh, set an example in school and Young Pioneer activities, and uphold the heroic revolutionary traditions of their ancestors. He urged them to contribute to building Điện Biên and the nation into a more prosperous and beautiful land.

On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to one collective and 14 individuals who had achieved outstanding results in implementing the movement “Điện Biên’s Children Emulating the Five Teachings of Uncle Hồ” during the 2020 - 2025 period. The Executive Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 180 Young Pioneer teachers, young pioneers, and children who excelled in the same movement.
