23 officials of Điện Biên Province request early retirement

ĐBP - In implementing Resolution No.18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Party Committee in 2017 on reforming and restructuring the political system (Resolution No.18 in short), a total of 23 officials, civil servants, and employees from the bloc of Party agencies in Điện Biên Province have voluntarily asked for early retirement.

Accordingly, the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization had six officials requesting early retirement, while the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education had one. The Party Committee of the provincial Agencies and Enterprises, Điện Biên Phủ City’s Party Committee, Điện Biên District’s Party Committee, and Mường Lay Town’s Party Committee each had three officials making the similar request. Tuần Giáo District’s Party Committee had two, and Điện Biên Đông and Mường Ảng Districts’ Party Committees each had one.

This voluntary early retirement reflects the exemplary spirit of Party members, including many senior officials. Their exemplary act not only facilitates the restructuring and consolidation of the organizational apparatus but also creates opportunities for younger leaders.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Mùa A Sơn, and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Lê Thành Đô present flowers to officials who requested early retirement.

Previously, on the morning of February 12, the Executive Board of the provincial Party Committee held a meeting to review and approve the proposal on restructuring agencies and units within the province’s political system, as submitted by the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee.

That same afternoon, the provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce decisions on organizational restructuring and personnel arrangements.

As per the decisions of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee of the provincial Party Agencies and the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee were established under the Executive Board of the provincial Party Committee.

Additionally, the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Commission for Mass Mobilization were merged into a single entity.
