Vice President awards scholarships to disadvantaged students in Điện Biên

ĐBP - On the morning of September 20, Võ Thị Ánh Xuân, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice President of Vietnam, visited the Điện Biên provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities to award scholarships to students in difficult circumstances.

Accompanying her were Trần Tiến Dũng, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province.

Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân presented 30 scholarships worth VND 3 million each to students who have overcome hardship and excelled in their studies. She also donated an LED screen to the school to support teaching and learning activities. On this occasion, the Vice President awarded an additional VND 200 million in scholarships to disadvantaged students across Điện Biên province.

She commended the students for their resilience and thirst for knowledge, encouraging them to remain diligent and strive to become responsible citizens contributing to the province and the country’s development.

She also called on Party committees, local authorities, the education sector, and social organizations to continue supporting disadvantaged students, creating better opportunities for their education, training, and holistic development.
