Young people revitalize their homeland

ĐBP - Upholding dynamic creativity and an aspiration to rise, many young people have chosen to establish their careers right in their homeland, harnessing local potential and comparative advantages to develop the economy.

Production and business models built by youth not only unlock sustainable wealth creation, but also generate employment, stimulate economic growth, and transform the face of their home communities.

Embodying a spirit of daring to think and act, boldly innovating and testing new economic directions, Sùng A Dia of Quài Tở commune chose to commit to his homeland, launching an entrepreneurial venture centered on coffee. After more than a decade attached to coffee trees, in January 2024, he founded Pha Đin Coffee Cooperative with seven members, progressively realizing his ambition to develop coffee cultivation through production linkages, elevating product value, and moving toward sustainable farming.

Sùng A Dia, Quài Tở commune, converses with, exchanges experience with, and guides villagers on coffee tree care techniques.

Today, with an associated partnership scale of 120ha, Pha Đin Coffee Cooperative is expanding raw material zones, shifting toward concentrated production, and augmenting product quality. Through production linkages, the cooperative guides farmers in applying scientific and technological advances to coffee care, harvesting, and pre-processing, contributing to higher yields and quality, progressively increasing the value of coffee beans, and securing stable off-take outlets.

Sùng A Dia, Director of Pha Đin Coffee Cooperative, shared: “Launching a business on my native land, my desire is not only to develop my household economy, but to help turn coffee into a flagship crop that lifts villagers’ incomes. Therefore, I continuously seek efficient production models, mobilizing farmers to form a cooperative, transform farming practices, elevate product quality, and build a local coffee brand. When people unite in linked production, coffee will pave the way for sustainable economic development right here on our native soil.”

Exemplifying the dynamic and creative spirit of youth, Tòng Thị Hà from Chiềng Chung village, Tuần Giáo commune, boldly pursued a new path in family economic development. Beyond striving to generate wealth on her native land, she actively shares experience, spreads an entrepreneurial spirit, and inspires the drive to advance economically among many village households.

Building on the efficiency of her family’s poultry-raising model, Hà connected like-minded households, sharing experience and encouraging one another to transform production by establishing Mường Quài Ecological Agriculture Cooperative. Currently, the cooperative concentrates on raising free-range hill chickens, native black pigs, and fish along safe, organic lines, capitalizing on local soil advantages and establishing value chains from production to consumption. Today, members’ living standards have improved, with many households attaining prosperity.

Tòng Thị Hà noted: “What gratifies me most is that the cooperative has helped local households transform their mindset and practices in economic development. Rather than merely relying on traditional production, members proactively learn techniques, calculate suitable livestock plans, and prioritize product quality. Developing production collectively provides households with added motivation, enabling them to share hardships and support one another in rising up. In the coming period, we will continue mobilizing villagers to join linkages, expand effective models, and progressively enhance product value, contributing to sustainable economic growth.”

In Na Dôn village, Núa Ngam commune, young Party member Lò Đức Quyết is esteemed by villagers for his pioneering, exemplary role in economic development and building a prosperous life. Determined to establish a career in his homeland, he boldly developed an integrated economic model combining pig farming with aquaculture. Thanks to initiative, diligence, and bold innovation, the model yields an annual income exceeding VND 200 million. Beyond elevating his family’s living standards, his model has become a study and learning destination, helping spread a pioneering spirit of daring to think and act in local economic development.

“‘With human resolve, even stones can be turned into sustenance’ - this adage has always served as my guiding motto throughout my entrepreneurial journey. I believe that with will, diligence, and an eagerness to learn, we can fully harness available strengths to develop the economy. Crucially, one must dare to think and act, persevere through hardships, and transform ordinary local conditions into opportunities to rise, enriching our families and contributing to the community,” Lò Đức Quyết shared.

Across Điện Biên province, an increasing number of young people are choosing to start businesses in their homeland, proactively tapping into available potentials and strengths to advance the economy. Through innovative thinking and a daring spirit, they not only establish sustainable livelihoods and elevate household incomes, but also help spread effective practices throughout the community. Through production models aligned with local conditions, young people are progressively reshaping production mindsets, fostering linkages among households, augmenting agricultural produce value, and generating on-site jobs. These endeavors contribute to efficiently utilizing land and labor resources, opening sustainable paths for rural economic development. When personal aspirations are tethered to community responsibility, young people serve not only as actors in wealth creation, but as positive catalysts unlocking potential, generating growth momentum, and joining hands to build an increasingly sustainable Điện Biên.
