According to the Decision No.2148-QĐNS/TW, the Politburo has transferred and appointed Trần Tiến Dũng, Secretary of the Vĩnh Long provincial Party Committee, as Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, effective from July 1, 2025.

The event was attended by Phan Thăng An, Deputy Head of the Central Party Committee’s Organization Commission, and Nguyễn Thành Thế, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vĩnh Long provincial Party Committee, who offered congratulations.

Key leaders from Điện Biên province, including Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mùa A Sơn, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Lê Thành Đô Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Lò Văn Phương, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, along with representatives from the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, departments, and agencies, were also present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Party Secretary Trần Quốc Cường congratulated Trần Tiến Dũng on his new appointment and emphasized the timeliness of the decision, which coincides with the effective launch of the two-tier local government model. He noted that this transition marks a new era for the province and presents an opportunity for the new Deputy Secretary to contribute meaningfully to the region’s development. The appointment is also seen as a reflection of the Government’s attention to Điện Biên, reinforcing its political apparatus and enhancing its capacity to fulfill political responsibilities.

Cường expressed his trust and hope that the new Deputy Secretary would leverage his capabilities, strengths, and credibility to foster unity within the leadership, decisively lead the province in accomplishing political tasks, particularly the successful organization of the 15th provincial Party Congress, up-coming National Assembly and People’s Council elections, and key national directives for development.

He called on provincial leaders, departments, and agencies to provide full support and optimal conditions for Trần Tiến Dũng to swiftly adapt to his new role and maximize his contributions to Điện Biên’s collective progress.

In his acceptance speech, Trần Tiến Dũng expressed his deep honor and sense of responsibility. He acknowledged the heroic legacy of Điện Biên Phủ and committed to absorbing all directives and responsibilities assigned by the provincial Party Secretary. He pledged to exert his utmost effort, lead by example, and unite with the entire provincial political system to realize the goals of the Party Congress, bringing Điện Biên forward into a new era of prosperity and strength.
