Currently, the province has 3 media agencies, 13 representative offices, and reporters from central media agencies with nearly 200 people. The journalistic publications have become increasingly rich, diverse, and attractive to readers, serving the political tasks of the province. The media agencies have adhered to their mission and purpose, truly becoming a powerful tool for bringing the Party’s guidelines and policies into practice; through this, they encourage and motivate Party members and the people to strive for the successful implementation of the Party’s policies.
Moreover, the media has actively promoted exemplary models, good deeds through patriotic emulation movements, participating in Party building, strengthening the political system, actively combating corruption, waste, and social vices; fighting to refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints, protecting the Party’s ideological foundation… Therefore, the press of the province has truly become the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government, armed forces, and a forum for the people, trusted by the people.
To achieve these successes in the province’s media, the contribution of the members of the Journalists’ Association is crucial. As a political, social, and professional organization, over the years, the Journalists’ Association has made great efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges; focused on innovating the content and methods of operation in a practical, effective, and member-focused direction. The association frequently coordinates with the leaders of media agencies to conduct good political and ideological education for the members; organizing the thorough study and implementation of the Party’s resolutions, the Journalism Law, the 10 ethical principles for Vietnamese journalists, and correcting any inappropriate actions related to the use of social media by journalists. As a result, the association’s members have strong political will, clear professional ethics, good qualifications, always staying close to real life to create high-quality journalistic works, maintaining their role as the vanguard in the ideological and cultural battlefront of the Party, truly acting as a bridge between the Party Committee, government, and the people.

The association has always focused on training and improving the professional quality of its members to meet the demands of modern and professional journalism. The association frequently coordinates with the Vietnam Journalists’ Association’s Training Center, local media agencies to open training courses, focusing on specific, practical content such as multimedia journalism skills, cross-platform reporting, and the use of artificial intelligence in journalistic creation…
In addition, the association regularly encourages and motivates its members to actively participate in journalism awards organized by central and provincial agencies; these are practical professional activities that create a broad emulation movement among journalist members, leading to more high-quality journalistic works that have practical significance in various aspects of social life. Many journalistic works have been published with timeliness, in-depth research, and suggestions for practical solutions in many areas. One author won the Encouragement Award in the National Journalism Award, two authors won the C Award for journalism on Party building, and two authors won a first prize for protecting the ideological foundation of the Party organized by the People’s Army Newspaper in cooperation with the Vietnam Journalists’ Association…
For society, the provincial Journalists’ Association, its branches, and members have been actively engaged in community-oriented activities such as building boarding schools, providing flood relief donations, supporting families of martyrs… showing the social responsibility of journalists.
In the era of the country’s growth, journalism nationwide, and Điện Biên journalism in particular, are facing many intertwined opportunities and challenges. The fourth industrial revolution, the explosion of information and communication technology, and the unpredictable fluctuations of the global situation are raising ever-higher demands for the press, requiring media agencies and the Journalists’ Association of the province to continue to innovate, be creative, and effectively promote their important role in guiding and leading public opinion. The association regularly understands the thoughts and aspirations of its members, focuses on addressing and recommending solutions to limitations and shortcomings, helping branches and media agencies strengthen unity to accomplish their tasks.
Emphasizing the streamlining of the association’s organizational structure, its branches in coordination with the restructuring of local media agencies, restructuring and building a team of journalists with the quality, capability, and reputation required for their mission. Continuing to effectively implement the movement “Building a cultural environment within the media agencies,” strengthening management work, developing members, and promoting the dissemination and inspection of the implementation of the 10 ethical rules for journalists and the use of social media by Vietnamese journalists. Enhancing political education, professional training, and applying digital technology to journalism activities to improve the quality and effectiveness of journalistic works in the digital era.
Building on the 100-year tradition of revolutionary journalism, with solid political will, a clear heart, humanistic spirit, and integrity to the profession, the team of journalists in the province will continue to assert their role as pioneers in the ideological and cultural front of the Party, dedicating themselves fully to serving the country, serving the people, and contributing to the development of Điện Biên in a sustainable manner.
