The delegation inspected the field site of the project for arranging and stabilizing population in natural disaster areas in Mường Pồn 2 village (site number 2). The project covers an area of over 1.8 hectares with the goal of resettling 27 households. It includes components such as roads, and systems for supplying electricity and domestic water. The total investment is VND 11.5 billion, sourced from the central budget reserve and the relief fund of the former Điện Biên district’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Relief Mobilization Board. To date, 18 households have moved to live at the population stabilization site.
Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng requested that the relevant units and local authorities speed up the completion of infrastructure, ensuring electricity, water, production land, etc., so that people can stabilize their lives and focus on labor and production.
Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng also inspected the project for embankments to protect production land and residential areas, and to regulate the flow from Mường Pồn 1 and 2 villages to Tin Tốc village. This project is invested by the Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Projects and construction began on October 1, 2025. The project aims to overcome erosion and damage caused by natural disasters, stabilize the water flow, protect 90 households, 160 hectares of rice land, 2.5 hectares of aquaculture, and technical infrastructure works in the area. It contributes to climate change adaptation, stabilizing lives, and the socio-economic development of Mường Pồn commune.
Deputy Minister Võ Văn Hưng requested that the units adhere closely to the plan, construct according to the design, and ensure the quality of the work, contributing to climate change adaptation and the sustainable development of residential areas along the stream.
