Minister of Finance Nguyễn Văn Thắng pays tribute to fallen heroes in Điện Biên

ĐBP - As part of the voter meeting program following the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, on the morning of July 5, Nguyễn Văn Thắng, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Finance, led a delegation to offer incense in remembrance of fallen heroes at the Martyrs’ Temple on the Điện Biên Phủ battlefield and at various cemeteries across the province.

Accompanying the minister were Tạ Thị Yên, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Deputies Affairs; Phạm Đức Toàn, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Lò Thị Luyến, Deputy Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, member of the provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province; along with leaders from several provincial departments and agencies.

Minister Nguyễn Văn Thắng and the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at the Martyrs’ Temple on the Điện Biên Phủ battlefield, paid tribute at the Memorial Site of General Võ Nguyên Giáp in Mường Phăng Commune, and visited A1 Martyrs’ Cemetery as well as Him Lam, Độc Lập, and Tông Khao Cemeteries.

In a solemn and reverent atmosphere, marking the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), Minister Nguyễn Văn Thắng expressed deep gratitude for the enormous contributions of General Võ Nguyên Giáp and the heroic sacrifices of the martyrs, outstanding sons and daughters of the nation who devoted their lives for the independence and freedom of the homeland and the well-being of its people.

Before the sacred memorials, the minister and the delegation offered incense with heartfelt respect, pledging to live, work, and serve in a way that is worthy of the sacrifices made by the martyrs. They reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development and prosperity of the country, striving toward the goals of a wealthy people, a strong nation, and a democratic, just, and civilized society.
