Each procedure resolved faster, each difficulty handled promptly, and each petition listened to and addressed swiftly stand as proof of the responsible, close-to-the-people spirit of grassroots-level cadres during public duty execution.
Lacking intermediate administrative layers, requirements placed upon commune-level governments are higher as all tasks must be settled right from the grassroots level. In Na Sang commune, instead of waiting for residents to seek them out, cadres and party members frequently visit individual villages and households to grasp sentiments and listen to hardships in production and daily life. Persistence in dissemination and mobilization gradually transforms mindsets, awakening public self-reliance. From donating land for roads, contributing labor to build cultural houses, and beautifying village landscapes to transforming crop structures, every undertaking aims at elevating public living standards and garners community consensus.
Trần Hồng Quân, Chairman of the Na Sang commune People’s Committee, shared: “We determine that to effectively deploy economic development guidelines, we must first secure public consensus. Numerous dialogue sessions are organized right within villages, sometimes stretching into the evening so residents can conveniently participate and directly exchange concerns regarding crop transformation, agricultural product outlets, or production development support mechanisms.”
Matching words with actions, contents agreed upon by residents are swiftly materialized by the Na Sang commune party committee and administration. From zone planning and technical guidance to supporting residents in expanding acreage and connecting product consumption, every subtask aims at raising household incomes. To date, the commune has formed a concentrated pineapple zone exceeding 500 ha with about 300 ha currently harvesting, while determination remains high to complete the 150 ha coffee development target in 2026.
In Mường Ảng commune, public trust is nurtured through concrete actions. These include voter contact sessions, grassroots-level visits to grasp public thoughts and aspirations, and the swift, punctual resolution of administrative procedures. These efforts yield positive results. In 2025, Mường Ảng ranked first province-wide regarding the Administrative Reform Index among 45 communes and wards, completing 34 out of 34 administrative reform tasks, with 100 percent of dossiers resolved ahead of deadline and public satisfaction reaching 90.22 percent.
Doãn Đức Chính, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Mường Ảng commune Party Committee, stated: “Building a government close to the people requires every cadre to stay deeply rooted in the grassroots-level, promptly resolve issues of public concern, and accompany residents in economic development and living standard elevation. Under that spirit, the commune continues elevating service quality, effectively exploiting local potentials and advantages, supporting residents in production development, and striving to lower the poverty rate below 1 percent by the end of the 2025-2030 term.”
Staying close to the people and the local area while doing what the people need is clearly demonstrated during moments when residents require sharing most. During heavy rains in early July, when landslide risks emerged across many spots in the province, hundreds of military officers, soldiers, militia, party committees, and commune authorities urgently arrived at scenes to assist residents in relocating people, property, and homes to safe locations. Regardless of day or night, rain or wind, houses were swiftly dismantled, transported, and re-erected within short periods.
Lầu A Lâu from Huổi Bon village, Pa Ham commune, shared: “While worrying over landslide risks from prolonged heavy rains, my family received timely support from local party committees, authorities, police and military forces, and villagers. Thanks to that help, moving our house and belongings was executed rapidly.”
Images of cadres alongside residents carrying wooden planks, tiles, and household items through heavy rains serve as clear proof of responsibility, sharing, and public service awareness. When public interests, safety, and lives are placed first, every task - large or small - becomes practical and meaningful.
Placing the people at the root, listening to public voices, and resolving life’s issues promptly remain core requirements throughout the activities of party committees and administrations. Public trust and consensus will reinforce the great national unity block, creating momentum for localities to develop rapidly and sustainably.
