Điện Biên provincial Military Party Committee maps out tasks in 2026

ĐBP - On the afternoon of December 9, the Điện Biên provincial Military Party Committee organized a conference to issue a resolution on leading military and defense tasks in 2026.

Attending the conference were: Trần Tiến Dũng, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Military Party Committee; Major General Nguyễn Đăng Khải, Member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 2.

In 2025, the provincial Military Party Committee comprehensively led and directed, successfully completing QSQP and border guard tasks associated with promoting the socio-economic development of the province. It advised the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee to successfully complete 9 task groups set out in the Directive on leading military and defense tasks in 2025; successfully and excellently completed 8 target groups with 22 specific targets in the Resolution on leading tasks in 2025 of the provincial Military Party Committee and successfully completed 82/82 work contents identified in the 2025 local military and defense work plan of the People’s Committee of Điện Biên province. The achieved results contributed to maintaining political stability, creating favorable conditions for the economic, cultural, and social development of the province.

The provincial Military Party Committee led and directed the effective implementation of the breakthrough stage in training; continued to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement Resolution No. 1659-NQ/QUTW, dated December 20, 2022, of the Central Military Commission on improving training quality; directed good preparation and organization of training for subjects according to plan, ensuring absolute safety. Inspection at the end of training showed 100% meeting requirements, with 83.3% rated good and excellent (exceeding the resolution target by 0.3%), the level and combat readiness of the provincial armed forces were raised. Participation in contests and sports festivals achieved good results; forces participating in performing A50, A80 tasks completed tasks excellently. Coordinated to support VND 800 million for families damaged by natural disasters, helped the locality with over 5,500 workdays to implement natural disaster recovery and social security activities; planted 550 green trees, shade trees, fruit trees, and timber trees.

Effectively promoting production increase models, the profit value from production increase and logistics services of the provincial armed forces reached 104.5% of the plan, averaging VND 1,463,000/person/year. In 2026, the provincial Military Party Committee identified 3 solutions and 5 key tasks. In particular, leading and directing good preparation for the provincial defensive area exercise in 2026; preparing for the phase 1 training launch; organizing for soldiers to demobilize and selecting and delivering troops in 2026 in accordance with the law, meeting the assigned targets.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Tiến Dũng highly appreciated the results the provincial Military Party Committee has achieved and emphasized: In the coming time, the provincial Military Party Committee should lead and direct research, grasping, evaluating, and correctly forecasting the situation, advising on timely handling of situations, not allowing passivity or surprise; especially on the occasion of the 14th National Party Congress; election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Thoroughly grasping, deploying, and comprehensively implementing resolutions, directives, and orders on military and national defense tasks in 2026; concretizing the construction of implementation programs and plans close to the functions and tasks of the provincial armed forces.

Reviewing, proposing, amending, and replacing coordination regulations; coordinating joint patrols between forces; focusing on regular exchange and close coordination with the provincial Police. Continuing to coordinate to promote import-export activities, immigration, administrative procedure reform, contributing to tourism development, and creating livelihoods for the people. Implementing and coordinating the implementation of crime prevention and control, especially drug crimes in border areas.

The provincial Military Party Committee leads and directs the celebration of the Lunar New Year (Tết) Bính Ngọ 2026 joyfully, healthily, safely, economically, with high combat readiness; organizing the program “Spring of solidarity, Tết warm with military-civilian love,” “Enlistment Festival.” Strengthening education, ideological management, compliance with laws and discipline. Ensuring full and timely logistics - engineering and finance for tasks, especially the Lunar New Year and receiving and training new soldiers. Organizing well “gratitude” activities; meeting retired military officers and those who have ceased working in the area. Coordinating to receive, hold memorial services, and bury the remains of Vietnamese martyrs who sacrificed in Laos returning to the country. Leading the good implementation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels, term 2026 - 2031.
