The festival has become a bridge between the Party, government, officials, and party members with the people, helping people become closer, more connected, and united, creating social consensus and an enthusiastic spirit of emulation to well implement political tasks and emulation movements locally.
In a joyful, excited, and warm atmosphere of solidarity, in early November, the people of Lún village, Thanh Yên commune, celebrated the Great National Unity Festival. From early morning, the villagers eagerly gathered at the cultural house to participate. After the welcome performance, they reviewed the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam National United Front. They listened to announcements on the results of mobilizing people to implement the two-level local government model; the socio-economic development results; the implementation of the village’s patriotic emulation campaigns and movements in the past year; the commendation of exemplary cultural families; and the launch of the 2026 emulation movement.
Tòng Thị Nhung, Head of the Lún village Fatherland Front Work Board, shared: “Lún village has 83 households with over 380 people, mainly Thái ethnic (99%), with only 1 Kinh household. The villagers participate quite fully in the Great National Unity Festival every year, except for those with unexpected work or who are working far away. The festival is an important occasion for people to interact, meet, and review what the village has achieved in the past year, while also highlighting things that were not done well, difficulties, and limitations, so everyone can be determined to do better in the future.”
This year’s Great National Unity Festival was organized by Nậm Ngám A village, Pu Nhi commune, on November 7. To create a joyful atmosphere and strengthen the spirit of unity and consensus in the community, the village organized many lively activities that received an enthusiastic response, such as: Awarding certificates for “cultural family” status; commending exemplary individuals; launching and signing emulation commitments for 2026 movements in the residential area; and cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges.
In Huổi Quang village, the Great National Unity Festival took place in a warm atmosphere of solidarity. Although the village still faces many difficulties, the people always trust in the Party’s leadership, strictly abide by the State’s guidelines and laws, and do not listen to the propaganda of bad elements. The villagers actively help each other develop their economy, improve their lives, reduce poverty, and enthusiastically participate in emulation movements, especially in uniting to build new rural areas and a cultural life in the residential area.
According to the plan, this year’s Great National Unity Festival is being organized by residential areas from November 1 to November 18. Depending on actual conditions, localities will choose a suitable organizational format to ensure it is economical, safe, and avoids waste. The festival invites all people or representatives of households in the residential area, people working far from home, and officials and party members residing in the area to attend. The activities are organized in a solemn yet familiar way, creating a joyful, warm atmosphere that connects the community.
Evaluating the Great National Unity Festival, Mùa A Vảng, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, affirmed: “The Great National Unity Festival, held annually in residential areas, has become a routine and is supported and joined by all classes of people. The festival has truly become a large-scale political activity, contributing to consolidating, strengthening, and promoting the great national unity bloc. Every year, 100% of residential areas in the province organize the Festival with many practical activities, such as: handing over great unity houses; visiting, encouraging, and supporting poor households; giving gifts to policy-beneficiary families, reputable individuals, exemplary models, and good people. Through the festival, the close relationship between officials, party members, and the people is tightened, social consensus is strengthened, and the great unity bloc in the community is consolidated, so everyone can join forces to successfully complete the locality’s goals, tasks, and emulation movements.”
