The conference was attended by Senior Colonel Nguyễn Trung Đắc, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and the Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command.

According to Decision No.2796/QD-BQP dated June 14, 2025, by the Ministry of National Defense, the establishment of the provincial Area Defense Commands under the Điện Biên provincial Military Command, in line with the restructuring process of local government, will reduce the number of levels from three to two.

This will involve the establishment of four area defense commands directly under the leadership of the provincial Military Command, transitioning from the old organizational model to a more streamlined, effective, quick-response, and high-readiness military force.

At the conference, the provincial Military Command announced and presented decisions regarding the staffing of positions after the dissolution of 10 district military commands and the establishment of 4 area defense commands. Tasks were assigned to the area defense commands, focusing on completing preparations to meet the schedule and requirements from higher authorities for immediate operational readiness after their establishment.
