Following the reorganization, the number of villages and residential groups across Điện Biên province was reduced from 1,446 to 888 units. Immediately upon the announcement of establishment decisions, localities moved swiftly to consolidate organizations, strengthen grassroots apparatuses, and enhance public consensus, ensuring that all tasks proceeded smoothly without disrupting the daily lives of residents.
In Thanh Nưa commune, Tâu 1, Tâu 2, and Tâu 3 villages were merged into Tâu village, comprising 260 households. Right from July 1, the village announced the establishment decision and introduced its leadership board along with branches of socio-political organizations. Numerous village meetings were organized to agree on operational regulations, formulate community conventions, assign duties, and publicly disclose financial revenues and expenditures. After more than a month of operation, administration has entered regular order, facilitating the locality’s focus on development goals.
Tâu village currently has 15 poor households. Alongside maintaining rice farming and livestock breeding, the village is mobilizing residents to partner with enterprises to plant 5 hectares of passion fruit and expand nearly 10 hectares of winter glutinous maize in the coming season to raise incomes. Lường Văn Thích, Head of Tâu village, stated that merging the three villages has expanded the population scale, and moving forward, the village will focus on encouraging residents to restructure crop patterns, link with enterprises to expand production models, and uphold solidarity to foster continuous village growth.
These positive developments have inspired confidence among local people. Lò Văn Pánh, a resident of Tâu village, shared that right after the merger, locals felt somewhat concerned due to the larger geographic area and larger population, but after one month, the village administration has operated smoothly, with residents remaining united and actively helping one another in economic development, trusting that the new village will enjoy conditions for more comprehensive growth.
Nà Tấu village in Nà Tấu commune was formed through the merger of Nà Tấu 1 and Nà Tấu 2 villages, currently comprising 183 households. Since the two former villages shared many similarities in daily life, production practices, and cultural identity, the merger achieved high public consensus. As population size and geographical boundaries expanded, preserving community cohesion became an urgent priority, which the village leadership designated as a primary task from the very start. Lò Văn Điện, Head of Nà Tấu village, stated that alongside organizing community meetings, village leaders visited each household directly to understand their thoughts and aspirations while setting up Zalo groups to promptly share public information, thereby swiftly building consensus on village conventions and cementing ties among households. With public unity secured, the village continues mobilizing production development and conveying Party guidelines and state policies to the people.
Following its establishment, the Party Cell of Nà Tấu village promptly assigned duties to cell committee members and party members, while reviewing targets and tasks from previous party cells to formulate a working program tailored to the realities of the new village. Regular party cell activities have been strictly maintained, establishing unity in leadership, guidance, and task execution at the grassroots level.
Lò Văn Thanh, Secretary of the Nà Tấu Village Party Cell, stated that after the merger, the most critical factor was forging unity in awareness and action among cadres, party members, and the people. When formulating resolutions, the cell stays close to the practical conditions of the new village, selecting core tasks for implementation, which enables smooth execution of political tasks and builds a firm foundation for economic growth, security and order maintenance, and community solidarity.
Following the reorganization, Nà Tấu commune reduced its village count from 35 down to 20 villages, including 5 specific villages kept intact. To ensure newly formed villages operate effectively, local party committees and authorities focused on consolidating the apparatus while directing villages to hold meetings and carry out planned tasks promptly. Nguyễn Ngọc Trường, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nà Tấu commune, stated that the commune established working groups to visit each village directly to announce organizational decisions, provide guidance on apparatus consolidation, and promptly resolve difficulties arising during operations. To date, reorganized villages have been operating stably, facilitating leadership, guidance, and socioeconomic task implementation at the grassroots level.
After more than a month of implementation, numerous reorganized villages across Điện Biên province have stabilized their organization and entered regular order. Public consensus and a smoothly functioning grassroots apparatus are laying the groundwork to leverage advantages in population scale, resources, and development space. This serves as a vital foundation for party committees and authorities to maintain close ties with the people, translate Party guidelines and state policies into reality, and mobilize public strength to develop the economy, build new-style rural areas, and enhance living standards.
