ĐBP - The “Compassionate Tết” program for the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tết) – the Year of the Horse is a humanitarian activity of deep significance, aiming to care for and support poor households and individuals in difficult circumstances in Điện Biên province, helping them have the conditions to enjoy spring and welcome Tết.

Thoughtfully preparing for the program, the provincial Red Cross Society is actively mobilizing resources and deploying specific activities to provide timely support to beneficiaries, ensuring everyone has a cozy Tết.

At the end of the year, caring for Tết for poor and near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, people with disabilities, the lonely elderly, orphans, and households affected by natural disasters is always a focus of implementation for the provincial Red Cross Society at all levels. This Tết season, the provincial Red Cross Society continues to deploy the “Compassionate Tết” program with many practical activities.

According to the plan, Association levels in the area will strive to support over 20,000 Tết gifts, worth at least VND 300,000 - 500,000/gift (including cash and in-kind items) to present to poor households and individuals in especially difficult circumstances. The highlight this year is organizing at least one provincial-level “Compassionate Tết” program with the activity of presenting 300 gifts, each worth a minimum of VND 500,000. At the commune level, a “Compassionate Tết” Week will be organized simultaneously from February 2 - 9, 2026 (December 15 - 22 of the lunar calendar) with activities such as giving gifts, offering Tết wishes, holding Compassionate Tết markets, playing folk games, drawing Tết paintings, taking photos, wrapping cakes... Thereby, creating a joyful, warm, and sharing atmosphere, spreading the compassionate spirit deeply and widely in the community.
