In Thanh An commune, the commemorative atmosphere of October 20 was captured through a knowledge contest on the campaign “Building Families with 5 No’s, 3 Clean’s, and 3 Safe’s.” Far more than a social gathering, the contest provided practical lessons on home care, child-rearing, and fostering safe, healthy living environments.
With the participation of 12 teams representing villages and hamlets, the contest unfolded in an enthusiastic atmosphere. Through greeting introductions, knowledge quizzes, and talent showcases, familiar household stories were brought to life in vibrant formats - from witty introductions to short skits that both entertained the audience and prompted reflection.
Lò Thị Chứ, President of the Thanh An commune Women’s Union, stated: “Keeping houses clean, caring for health, paying attention to children’s education, and preventing domestic violence are not unfamiliar matters. But when brought to the stage and framed within concrete scenarios, each message becomes much more relatable. Women competed while jointly reflecting on daily habits, thereby gaining a clearer understanding of each family member’s responsibility in building prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy homes.”
Returning from the contest stage to their villages, the insights exchanged and acquired can be implemented right within their own homes. This is the very objective pursued by the Thanh An commune Women’s Union: ensuring the “5 No’s, 3 Clean’s, and 3 Safe’s” criteria extend beyond campaign slogans into routine daily practices, fostering a civilized lifestyle and contributing to the goal of bringing the commune across the new-style rural finish line in 2026.
Leaving behind the lively contest hall, the sports ground in Mường Lói village, Mường Nhà commune, resounded with cheers for female football players. Under the spirit of “fitness for labor, study, and dedication,” the women’s football tournament - featuring seven teams and 77 athletes - delivered exciting matches, impressive teamwork, and electrifying goal celebrations.
Accustomed to housework, farming, and daily chores, the women competed with high enthusiasm upon stepping onto the pitch. Spirited runs and encouraging handshakes after each play showcased not only athletic passion but forged strong bonds among teams.
In Thanh Nưa commune, the October atmosphere became even more meaningful as the communal Women’s Union organized a culinary contest, traditional costume presentation, and exhibition promoting local agricultural produce. From villages, hamlets, public agencies, units, and schools, 14 competing teams took part with meticulous preparation and eager spirits.
The culinary competition left the strongest impression. From ingredient prep to cooking and dish presentation, collective teamwork created a joyful, intimate ambiance. Familiar dishes showcased culinary skill and resourcefulness while providing opportunities to share recipes and build closer connections.
Tòng Thị Tuân, a member of the Thanh Nưa commune Women’s Union, recounted: “At home, we cook every day, but preparing a contest meal together brings a distinct joy. Everyone has a different recipe or technique, so we all learn something new. The best part is joining hands, chatting while cooking, and feeling much closer to one another.”
With more than 103,000 members across 888 grassroots-level branches, provincial Women’s Union chapters at all levels are steadily bringing the movement closer to members’ daily lives. Every activity and gathering delivers small joys, nurtures affection among members, and sparks a spirit of collective progress.
Pờ Diệu Ninh, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee and President of the provincial Women’s Union, noted: “Activities celebrating October 20 not only bring festive joy, but generate motivation for women to feel more confident in life. Every woman possesses unique strengths - some are resourceful homemakers, others are industrious in production, and many are active in grassroots movements. When afforded opportunities to meet, share, and receive encouragement, women have greater conditions to bring their abilities into play, jointly building happy families and contributing to the community.”
Laughter on the pitch, shared experiences, and lessons on preserving family warmth linger after every activity. From these simple moments, women gain joy and confidence to care for their households, develop their livelihoods, and join hands in building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
