Through exemplary conduct, profound understanding of local customs, and trusted voices within their communities, they actively mobilize residents to develop the economy, build new rural areas, preserve cultural identities, and maintain security and order, contributing to consolidating trust and fostering the great national unity bloc.
For nearly a decade, Lò Văn Lún, residing in Púng Giắt village, Mường Pồn commune, has continuously been trusted and elected by villagers as a reputable person. To him, prestige stems not merely from words but is affirmed through concrete deeds serving the community’s collective interest. From encouraging economic development and contributing workdays to construct concrete roads, to building community cultural houses and maintaining village sanitation, he always participates proactively and mobilizes villagers to join in.
From 2025 to date, Lún has mobilized more than 20 households to convert low-yielding crop land to cultivating macadamia and coffee; encouraged residents to donate nearly 1ha of land to create volleyball and football grounds; and rallied workdays to construct intra-village roads. These practical actions have helped improve living conditions, providing momentum for residents to develop household economies and strengthen community solidarity. Currently, the poverty rate of Púng Giắt village has dropped to just over 13%, security and order are fundamentally maintained, and social vices are curbed.
In Đoàn Kết hamlet, Tủa Chùa commune, Vừ A Của is likewise deeply trusted by local residents for his devotion and dedication to collective affairs. Whether communicating new guidelines and policies or resolving emerging local disputes, he is proactively present. Leveraging his mastery of customs and practices alongside intimate bonds with the people, he persistently mobilizes villagers to abide by Party guidelines and State policies and laws; actively engage in production labor; cultivate a civilized lifestyle; and abandon backward customs. He also takes part in anti-drug communication, environmental sanitation upkeep, and local security maintenance.
Deeds such as those of Lún and Của are being widely promoted across the contingent of more than 1,300 reputable figures among ethnic minorities throughout the province. Among them, 560 belong to the Mông ethnic group, 546 to the Thái ethnic group, and the remainder represent other ethnic groups. With influential voices in their communities, this contingent actively encourages residents to restructure crop and livestock patterns, develop production, elevate incomes, and achieve sustainable poverty reduction. In new rural construction, they lead the way in mobilizing land donations, financial contributions, and workdays to build transport roads and public infrastructure works.
Across each village, reputable figures also contribute to preserving fine cultural values, mobilizing the elimination of backward customs, and practicing civilized lifestyle standards in weddings, funerals, and festivals; preventing child marriage and consanguineous marriage; and protecting the environment. In the domain of security and public order, they educate residents to respect the law, heighten vigilance, denounce crimes, and build self-governing models alongside the “Peaceful Lineage” movement. When conflicts or disputes arise, reputable figures proactively participate in reconciliation, helping resolve issues right at the grassroots. Concurrently, they serve as channels capturing the aspirations and sentiments of the people, promptly conveying legitimate recommendations to Party committees and administrations.
Through exemplary conduct, high responsibility, and close bonds with their communities, reputable figures are helping bring Party guidelines and State policies and laws closer to the people. Bringing this role into full play will continue to generate ripple effects across grassroots emulation movements, reinforcing trust, consolidating great national unity, and contributing to driving socio-economic development and safeguarding local peace and security.
