ĐBP — On October 14, Comrade Phạm Đức Toàn, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee and Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, held a working session with representatives from World Vision International in Việt Nam (WVI-V). The delegation was led by Doseba Tua Sinay, Chief Representative of WVI-V.

In September 2022, the Provincial People's Committee and the World Vision International (WVI-V) Representative Office signed a cooperation agreement to implement various programmes and projects in Điện Biên for the 2022-2027 period.

Under this agreement, both sides will collaborate on five regional programmes. These include ongoing initiatives in four districts—Tuần Giáo, Mường Chà, Tủa Chùa, and Điện Biên Đông—that have been in place since 2008, along with the addition of a new programme in Mường Ảng District.

The partnership also covers two key projects: preventing human trafficking in the Tủa Chùa regional programme and addressing child labour in hazardous environments.

So far, after two years, all agreed-upon actions have been effectively implemented in full compliance with Vietnamese law.

The WVI-V delegation presents flowers to congratulate the provincial leaders.

On behalf of the delegation, Doseba Tua Sinay, Chief Representative of WVI-V, addressed several issues related to the projects carried out by WVI-V in the province. He also expressed gratitude for Điện Biên’s cooperation in implementing these projects and acknowledged the province’s openness and enthusiasm in facilitating visits by sponsors to inspect project outcomes. Sinay expressed hope that the collaboration between the WVI-V Representative Office and Điện Biên Province would yield even greater results in the future.

Speaking at the session, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Committee, Phạm Đức Toàn, praised WVI-V’s contributions to the socio-economic development of Điện Biên in recent years. He also shared some of the positive outcomes, as well as the challenges, faced by the province in poverty reduction, social security, and overall socio-economic development.

Standing Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phạm Đức Toàn gives typical agricultural products of the province to Doseba Tua Sinay, Chief Representative of WVI-V.

He expressed his gratitude to WVI-V for its support and expressed a desire for continued cooperation until poverty is eradicated in the province. Comrade Toàn pledged to direct relevant departments and local authorities to work closely with the WVI-V Representative Office, ensuring that the projects are carried out in alignment with their objectives to improve the lives of the people in Điện Biên Province.
