Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường Receives the Japan-Việt Nam Friendship Association

ĐBP - Trần Quốc Cường, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, on Friday received a courtesy visit from the Japan-Việt Nam Friendship Association. The delegation was led by Mr. Takabatake Motoaki, Chairman of the Workers' Learning Association, on the occasion of their visit and work in Điện Biên Province.

Welcoming the Japan-Việt Nam Friendship Association delegation to Điện Biên, Secretary Trần Quốc Cường affirmed: In recent years, the extensive strategic partnership between Việt Nam and Japan has made new strides, deepening and elevating comprehensive cooperation in various fields such as economics, education, trade, investment, politics, diplomacy, defence, and security. This partnership has brought practical benefits to the people, businesses, and localities of both countries.

Secretary Trần Quốc Cường introduced the delegation to the socio-economic development potential, the unique culture, cuisine, and people of Điện Biên. He also highlighted the results of exchanges and cooperation between Điện Biên and Japan. He noted that twenty years ago, cherry trees from Japan were brought to Điện Biên by overseas Vietnamese, and now more than 100,000 cherry trees have been planted, with many blooming beautifully. In recent years, Điện Biên has organised cherry blossom festivals, attracting many cherry blossom enthusiasts, lovers of Japanese culture, and Japanese people who love Điện Biên. Notably, Điện Biên has opened Japanese language classes, which have attracted many interested students. Secretary Trần Quốc Cường expressed his desire to expand cultural exchange activities between the two sides, enhance mutual understanding between the people of both localities, and strengthen the enduring friendship between Việt Nam and Japan.

Representatives of the Japan-Việt Nam Friendship Association thanked the leaders of Điện Biên Province for their warm reception and emphasised their desire to contribute to strengthening friendly exchange and cooperation activities between the two nations. Currently, over 550,000 Vietnamese are living, studying, and working in Japan. They hope that in the future, both sides will organise more cooperative exchange activities in various fields to further tighten this good relationship.
