The delegation also conducted a survey to explore the development of a tourism route along the Đà River.
Attendees included Lò Văn Mừng, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Department; Lò Thị Minh Phượng, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Publicity and Education Department; and leaders of various provincial departments.
Mường Lay High School, formerly Lai Châu Secondary and High School, was established in 1963. Over its 61-year history, the school has made significant contributions to the province's educational efforts.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, the school's achievements in training outstanding students were impressive, ranking 7th out of 33 districts in the province. In 2024, 100 per cent of its students passed the high school graduation exam, with an average score of 6.35, placing 12th out of 41 participating units in the province – a nine-place improvement over 2023.
In honour of the upcoming 42nd anniversary of Việt Nam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), the provincial Party Committee Secretary Trần Quốc Cường extended his warmest congratulations and deepest gratitude to the school's staff and teachers for their dedication to education.
He also acknowledged and celebrated the excellent achievements Mường Lay High School has accomplished.
Cường urged Mường Lay High School to continue its long-standing tradition and to effectively implement comprehensive educational reforms, especially in building a team of well-rounded and skilled educators.
This effort, he emphasised, would help enhance public knowledge and develop a high-quality workforce in the area.
During a field survey along the Đà River tourism route, the Party Secretary said that Mường Lay Town holds significant potential for tourism development, particularly river-based tourism.
He noted that the province aims to make tourism a key economic sector. Strengthening connections between tourist attractions in different localities will contribute to creating diverse and appealing tour packages. Therefore, the tourism sector at both the provincial and local levels must highlight unique points of interest, services, and destinations to attract visitors.
In addition, the Mường Lay Town People's Committee should provide favourable conditions and mobilise social resources to invest in new types of services and transport options to meet the growing demands of tourists, he said.
