The event aimed to review the results of the joint information dissemination efforts on military and defense missions in 2024 and to discuss and sign the coordination program for 2025. Attending the event was Mr. Lò Văn Phương, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council.

In 2024, the coordinated information dissemination efforts were effectively and tightly implemented by the provincial Military Command, Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper, the provincial Radio and Television, and other press agencies.

Hence, information dissemination on local military and defense tasks was conducted comprehensively, in-depth, and in line with strategic guidelines. The provincial Military Command proactively collaborated with media agencies to effectively communicate resolutions, directives, and strategies related to military and defense missions and national security.

Throughout the year, more than 2,000 news articles, reports, photos, and videos on local military and defense affairs were published by both Central and local press agencies. Additionally, 257 articles focused on fighting against “peaceful evolution” in the ideological and cultural fields, as well as on urgent, sensitive, and complex missions. Meanwhile, 319 news reports, images, videos, and slogans highlighted defense diplomatic activities.

Notably, throughout the year, Central and local media agencies promptly and extensively covered the activities of the provincial armed forces in assisting people affected by natural disasters, building resettlement areas, and stabilizing livelihoods following the aftermath of tropical storms No.2 and No.3, with nearly 300 published works. The media also comprehensively reported on the province’s armed forces’ involvement in planning and organizing major political events and celebrations, totaling 416 articles. Key events covered included: National Tourism Year - Điện Biên 2024; the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory; the 115th anniversary of the province’s establishment; the 75th anniversary of the provincial armed forces’ traditional day; the Emulation Congress for the armed forces (2019-2024 period); the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army; and the 35th anniversary of the All-People’s National Defense Festive Day.

The joint communication efforts have helped foster pride and a sense of responsibility among provincial armed forces personnel and the public in preserving and promoting the noble traditions of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army. Furthermore, they have reinforced the deep-rooted unity between the military and the people while firmly defending the ideological foundation of the Party.

Recognizing the outstanding achievements in military and defense communication, Ms. Lò Thị Minh Phượng, Head of the Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization, also pointed out challenges for the coming period. She urged media agencies to provide timely, comprehensive, and in-depth coverage of key directives, resolutions, and conclusions from both central and provincial authorities. She also emphasized the importance of promoting major national political events, local military and defense missions, the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress, and efforts to streamline and restructure the political system at the provincial level.

The provincial Military Command was tasked with closely coordinating with the Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization to ensure clear guidance for media agencies in disseminating military and defense information effectively. Additionally, it was instructed to work closely with media outlets to provide timely updates on military and defense activities and significant events related to the provincial armed forces.

At the conference, the provincial Military Command honored 12 individuals for their outstanding contributions to military and defense communication in 2024.

Following discussions and contributions from attending representatives, the provincial Military Command, Điện Biên Phủ Newspaper, and the provincial Radio and Television agreed to sign the 2025 coordination program.
