This year, Nậm Pồ District has made significant strides in socio-economic development and national defence-security objectives.
The total production value is forecast to achieve 105.01 per cent of the annual plan, reflecting a 9.27 per cent increase compared to 2023. Grain production is projected to meet 100.38 per cent of the target, a 0.96 per cent rise, while the livestock population is estimated to reach 101.22 per cent of the plan, an increase of 5.85 per cent year-on-year.
Forest coverage now stands at 99.55 per cent of the target, representing a 0.3 per cent improvement from 2023. Political and border security, along with stability in rural and highland areas, have been effectively maintained.
Further advancements include strengthened education infrastructure and prioritised investments in basic healthcare facilities and medical equipment.
By mid-November, Nậm Pồ District's poverty rate had decreased to 38.32 per cent, with 4,628 impoverished households—a reduction of 680 compared to 2023.
For 2024, the district is carrying out 104 public investment projects with a total budget of VNĐ240.485 billion (US$9.46 million). To date, VNĐ107.502 billion has been disbursed, equating to 44.7 per cent of the planned allocation. The district is targeting a 98 per cent disbursement rate by the end of the year.
During the meeting, district leaders requested provincial support to address challenges in fund disbursement for projects under national target programmes.
They also proposed expediting the review, classification, and adjustment of forest and forestry land. Additionally, they called for amendments to Decision No. 45/2022/QĐ-UBND to delegate authority for recruiting district-level public officials.
Deputy Chairman Vừ A Bằng urged Nậm Pồ District to align its initiatives with the directives of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee.
He emphasised the importance of achieving the objectives set out in Plan No. 1753/KH-BCĐ, issued on 17 April 2023 by the provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation.
Additionally, he instructed the district to evaluate its 2024 performance to establish a foundation for formulating socio-economic plans for 2025, in accordance with the resolutions of the district and provincial Party Congresses.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman Vừ A Bằng conducted an on-site inspection of a cinnamon planting project in Nà Khoa Commune, a pivotal initiative in the district’s agricultural development strategy.
