Further popularizing the 2025 Ban Flower Festival

ĐBP - On the morning of February 19, the Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization under the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, in coordination with the provincial Department of Information and Communications, the provincial Journalists’ Association, and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, held a press conference to promote the 2025 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups.

The conference also served as a media briefing for January and February and provided guidance for media coverage in March 2025. Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Vừ A Bằng attended and directed the event.

The 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups will take place from March 13 to March 16, featuring various activities such as: Offering incense at the Martyrs’ Temple at Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield; folk singing, dancing, and musical performances by ethnic groups; showcasing and reenacting traditional festivals and cultural rituals; cultural and tourism competitions; and highland cultural spaces.

During January and February, following the dissemination direction, press agencies effectively carried out coverage of political and social events in the province, as well as socio-economic and national defense activities.

Media outlets reported on the provincial leadership’s policies and administration, the performance of governmental bodies, and key developments in national and international affairs. The content adhered to political orientation, maintaining engaging formats and diverse, in-depth reporting to meet the information needs of cadres, party members, and the public.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Vừ A Bằng addressed concerns raised by the delegates and provided additional updates on the organization of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups. He requested that press agencies should further closely coordinate with the provincial Department of Information and Communications and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to ensure official and accurate reporting on the festival. Additionally, he urged localities in the province to facilitate media operations and create favorable conditions for journalists.

In setting future media directions, Mr. Ngôn Ngọc Khuê, Deputy Head of the Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization under the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee, instructed media outlets, news publications, web portals, and local websites to focus on promoting the implementation of the 13th National Party Congress Resolution, the 14th Điện Biên Provincial Party Congress Resolution, and the resolutions of local Party congresses for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, the media should also cover the activities of subcommittees serving the Party congresses at all levels, with a special emphasis on Party congresses at the grassroots level. Additionally, extensive coverage of the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Điện Biên’s Ethnic Groups was highlighted as a key media priority.
