Điện Biên’s leaders work with FPT Group

ĐBP - On the afternoon of February 28, a working delegation from FPT Group, led by Mr. Lê Trường Tùng, General Director of FPT Education and Chairman of FPT University’s Board of Trustees, had a meeting with the Standing Board of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were Mr. Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; and Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường speaks at the meeting.

FPT Group conducted a site survey for the implementation of the FPT Education Complex Project in Điện Biên Province and proposed a location along National Highway 12 in Thanh Trường Ward, Điện Biên Phủ City, covering an area of 10 hectares. This site is within a 48.65-hectare plot that has been approved under the 1/500-scale detailed urban planning for the Northwestern Urban Area of Điện Biên Phủ City, which is part of the 1/5,000-scale zoning plan for the northern area of Điện Biên Phủ City associated with the Điện Biên Airport.

At the meeting, representatives from the provincial Department of Construction presented two options for the land allocation of the FPT Education Complex in Thanh Trường Ward, Điện Biên Phủ City, while also assessing the advantages and disadvantages of each option based on investor proposals.

Mr. Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, delivers remarks at the meeting.

Representatives of FPT Group urged Điện Biên Province to approve the investment policy for the FPT Education Complex Project on the 10-hectare site along National Highway 12 in Thanh Trường Ward, Điện Biên Phủ City. They also requested preferential policies, including full exemption of land lease fees under Decree NDD103/2024, prioritization of infrastructure development to connect with the project, support for site clearance, and facilitation of legal procedures in compliance with regulations. FPT Group committed to investing according to schedule to contribute to the province’s overall development.

Regarding the proposal for 100% land lease fee exemption, Điện Biên Province stated that it would comply with legal regulations. Concerning infrastructure development around the project, Decision 583, which approved the 1/500-scale detailed urban planning for the Northwestern Urban Area of Điện Biên Phủ City, confirmed that the existing technical infrastructure (including roads, water supply, and electricity) was fundamentally in place. Additionally, the proposed project site does not have residential structures, meeting FPT Group’s criteria.

Mr. Lê Trường Tùng, General Director of FPT Education, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FPT University, presents proposals to Điện Biên Province.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường emphasized that the discussion aimed to finalize the location, approach, and policy framework for implementing the FPT Education Complex Project in Điện Biên. He stressed the importance of a rapid but thorough implementation process that strictly adheres to legal regulations.

At the same time, Mr. Trần Quốc Cường urged the provincial People's Committee to research and propose to the provincial People's Council policies that prioritize education and the training of high-quality human resources.

Leaders of Điện Biên Province and FPT Group survey the proposed site for the FPT Education Complex.

He also directed relevant local functional agencies, including the Department of Construction, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Education and Training, to continue coordinating with FPT Group during project implementation.

Prior to the meeting, leaders of Điện Biên Province and FPT Group  conducted an on-site survey of the proposed location for the FPT Education Complex in the northern area of Thanh Trường Ward, Điện Biên Phủ City.
