Điện Biên’s armed forces begin new training season in 2025

ĐBP - On the morning of March 3, the Điện Biên Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the provincial Border Guard Command, organized the opening ceremony for the new training season in 2025 and launched a high-level emulation drive titled “Faster - Determined to win.”

Comrade Phạm Đức Toàn, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, attended the event and delivered a directive speech.

Units sign the 2025 emulation agreement.

In 2025, the provincial armed forces are committed to continuing innovation and breakthroughs in training, following the resolutions at all levels. The training will adhere to the motto "Fundamental - Practical - Solid," ensuring a thorough and effective approach. The focus is on synchronized and in-depth training, emphasizing practical application, mastering existing and modern weapons, equipment, and technology.

Military training will be closely integrated with political education, education and training, and combat readiness, while maintaining strict discipline. Each unit has been assigned specific training tasks, outlining content, levels of training for different subjects, and specific measures to achieve high-quality results.

Senior Colonel Lê Văn Sơn, Commander of the provincial Military Command, outlines the training agenda.

The “Faster - Determined to win” emulation drive, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day and the 135th birth anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh, will take place from March 1 to May 19. It focuses on four key areas, setting practical targets such as: Ensuring 100% attendance in training programs, achieving 100% pass rates in evaluations (with at least 83% rated as good or excellent), maintaining high-quality training for new recruits from the first week, and achieving a 100% pass rate with good or excellent results in live-fire exercises. Units are also encouraged to develop at least one meaningful and practical project or product.

Comrade Phạm Đức Toàn, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, delivers a directive speech.

Recognizing and commending the achievements in the 2024 training mission, comrade Phạm Đức Toàn assigned specific tasks to the provincial armed forces and units in charge of conducting training tasks. Analyzing the local military-defense situation and upcoming challenges, he urged all levels of the armed forces, from provincial to grassroots levels, to build on their accomplishments, apply lessons learned, and remain highly determined to successfully complete training tasks and emulation movements.

Key directives include effectively implementing the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and directives on national defense and security in the new era; proactively advising the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee on fulfilling assigned tasks, particularly in combat readiness training for 2025; strictly implementing the resolution of the Central Military Commission on “Enhancing Training Quality from 2023-2030 and Beyond;” and continuing to improve coordination between the military, police, and border forces.

Delegates visit training models and learning aids.

Additionally, the provincial armed forces must closely monitor the situation, especially in key areas, to provide timely responses and prevent unexpected incidents from escalating into crises. The emulation movements should continue to expand and have a profound impact, significantly improving unit readiness and combat capabilities, ensuring the armed forces meet mission requirements in the evolving security landscape.
