The station also addressed local challenges, resolving incidents in line with political and legal standards, and maintaining peace across the border region.
Over the year, the unit collaborated with other forces to apprehend nine individuals in eight separate cases.
The border guards also supported community development, advising on grassroots authority and enhancing the quality of life for border residents.
They helped construct two homes for impoverished families and provided 296 gifts to disadvantaged households and students, valued at VNĐ300 million (US$12,300).
They also contributed to disaster response efforts.
Addressing the session, deputy PM Phớc commended the unit for being a critical shield safeguarding the nation’s borders and a source of support for border communities.
He affirmed that the Party and State hold great trust in the commitment of border guards to safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining peace for the people.
However, the deputy PM also emphasised ongoing challenges, particularly drug and human trafficking.
He urged the station to strengthen anti-drug operations and educate local youth on preventing human trafficking.
He called for deeper collaboration with local authorities to alleviate poverty, stressing that improved living standards for border residents would enhance their participation in national security efforts. Additionally, he urged the unit to coordinate with customs forces to detect and prevent explosive material smuggling and combat the spread of unauthorised religious practices that exploit and mislead local communities.
Earlier in the day, the deputy PM and his delegation offered incense at the Martyrs' Memorial, visited the Thành Bản Phủ national relic site in Noong Hẹt Commune, Điện Biên District, and encouraged officers and soldiers at the Tây Trang International border gate.
