During the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Trần Quốc Cường expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended by the Embassy to the delegation. He provided an overview of Điện Biên Province, highlighting its potential and strengths in agricultural and forestry production, tourism, and renewable energy development. He emphasised that Điện Biên is steadfast in its policy of expanding friendly and cooperative relations with localities and organisations in traditional partner countries, including the Russian Federation, to attract resources for socio-economic development.

In line with the broader trend of international integration and cooperation, Điện Biên Province has established friendly cooperative relations with six northern Lao provinces, northeastern Thai provinces, Batna Province in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, and Yunnan Province in China. The province is currently working to establish cooperative ties with several regions in countries such as the Russian Federation, the Dominican Republic, Japan, France, and South Korea.

The Provincial Party Secretary expressed hope that the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation would continue to pay attention to and support Điện Biên in introducing and promoting the province’s image and development potential to suitable partners, particularly in renewable energy, agriculture and forestry, tourism, conservation, and museums. He called for assistance in attracting and connecting with potential strategic investors to visit, research, and implement cooperation programmes, aid initiatives, and investment projects in the province. Điện Biên aspires to collaborate with foreign localities and international organisations for sustainable development. Additionally, the province seeks opportunities for its students to study and work long-term in the Russian Federation and aims to build bridges for market access, bringing local products to international markets.

He also acknowledged the delegation’s proposals and pledged that, in the future, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation will work more closely with Điện Biên Province to promote and introduce the province’s image and potential, implement cooperation programmes, aid initiatives, and investment projects.

The Embassy will also share insights into potential areas where the province should advance cooperative activities with investors, industries, and localities in the Russian Federation, particularly in renewable energy development, agriculture and forestry, tourism, and human resource training and improvement, as well as labour export collaboration. These efforts aim to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the province in the coming period.
