ĐBP - The battle against drugs in Điện Biên province continues to unfold silently yet fiercely and perilously. Every victory in this war is not only won through intellect and resolve but often through sweat, tears, and even sacrifice.

ĐBP - With just a few days remaining, the two-tier local government system is set to be officially operational, laying the foundation for a new phase of development. Ahead of this historic moment in the ongoing administrative restructuring revolution, the atmosphere of urgency is palpable across localities, with efforts intensifying to complete all tasks on time, working day and night.

ĐBP - In recent times, the Party Committee of the Điện Biên provincial People’s Committee has focused on directing and enhancing the dissemination efforts for the party congresses at all levels through various forms and content. This aims to affirm the leadership role of the Party and strengthen public trust.

ĐBP - Nearly two years into the pilot implementation of the “Drug-free border commune” model, Vàng Đán commune (Nậm Pồ district, Điện Biên province) has seen notable improvements in public security and order. Drug-related crime and social evils have significantly declined, contributing to local stability and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.

ĐBP - On June 25, the Điện Biên provincial People’s Committee held an online meeting to discuss potential for cooperation across various fields with the government of Caen city, Calvados prefecture, France. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vừ A Bằng chaired the meeting from Điện Biên, while Cécile Cottenceau, Deputy Mayor of Caen, chaired the meeting from the French city.

ĐBP - On June 25, the Party Committee of the Điện Biên provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment held its first congress for the 2025-2030 term. Nguyễn Văn Đoạt, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial People’s Committee, attended and directed the congress.

ĐBP - On June 25, Điện Biên Phủ ward, Thanh Nua commune, and Na Sang commune conducted a trial run of their local government operations after the completion of the district-level government restructuring and the implementation of the two-tier local government model. These localities tested two activities: holding their first meeting of the People’s Council and operating the Public Administrative Service Center.

ĐBP - As the July 1 deadline approaches for the dissolution of the district-level government in Mường Chà district, Điện Biên province, local agencies and units are working at full speed. Officials and civil servants are racing against the clock to ensure all duties are completed ahead of the launch of the new two-tier administrative model.

ĐBP - The restructuring of administrative units at the commune level is a major policy of the Party and State to streamline the apparatus and improve the operational efficiency of local governments, ultimately serving the people better. ĐBP - On June 24, comrade Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, inspected the infrastructure and necessary conditions to facilitate the operation of the newly merged communes: Sam Mứn and Núa Ngam.

ĐBP - On June 24, the Inspectorate of Điện Biên province held a conference to announce the Decision of the provincial People’s Committee regarding the restructuring of the organizational apparatus as part of the proposal to reorganize the internal structure of provincial specialized agencies.

ĐBP - The 15th Điện Biên provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term is a landmark political event, marking a new phase in the province’s development as the country pushes forward with comprehensive reform and global integration. As the congress approaches, officials, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups across the province share a common trust and strong expectation for strategic, visionary decisions that will drive Điện Biên towards rapid and sustainable growth.

ĐBP - On June 23, the Điện Biên provincial Military Command held a meeting to hand over the responsibilities of the Commander of the provincial Military Command.

ĐBP - The 2025 national high school graduation exam comes at a critical juncture, coinciding with the final days of Vietnam’s transition from a three-tier to a two-tier administrative system. Initially, there were concerns that this major restructuring could disrupt exam preparations. However, across Điện Biên province, authorities at all levels have treated this exam as a top priority, operating under the guiding spirit: “Even with just one day left, we remain fully committed and responsible.”

ĐBP - On June 23, the Military Party Committee of Điện Biên province held a meeting to issue a resolution for the leadership in implementing military and defense tasks, as well as strengthening the Party organization for the last 6 months of the year. During the meeting, the committee approved 8 key groups of tasks and solutions.

ĐBP - As part of the restructuring and merger of administrative units at the commune level, handling surplus office buildings has become an urgent task to ensure the effective use of public assets and maintain stable government operations. The province of Điện Biên has developed a specific plan that is tailored to local realities, aiming to save resources while ensuring service to people.

ĐBP - On June 21, the Điện Biên provincial Military Command held a conference to announce the military personnel decisions under the local government’s two-level organizational model.

ĐBP - After more than 13 years working as a journalist in the highlands, I’ve lost count of the places I’ve passed through or the number of times I’ve paused in remote mountain villages clinging to steep hillsides. But there are things I’ve never forgotten: the eyes of highland children sitting beside winter fires, the smiles of the elderly over warm handfuls of sticky rice, or the firm handshakes of teachers stationed in the most deprived corners of the region.

ĐBP - When I was still sitting in the university lecture hall, if anyone had asked me what I would do in the future, I would have certainly answered: “I will be a literature teacher.”
