Thai Ambassador pays courtesy visit to Điện Biên Province

ĐBP — A delegation led by Thai Ambassador to Việt Nam Nikorndej Balankura paid a courtesy visit to Điện Biên Province on January 31.

Lê Thành Đô, vice secretary of the provincial Party Committee and chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, holds a working session with the Thai Embassy’s delegation.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Lê Thành Đô, vice secretary of the provincial Party Committee and chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Thai delegation.

Đô provided an overview of the socio-economic development of Điện Biên Province, highlighting its potential and strengths in agricultural-forestry production, tourism, solar power, and renewable energy.

On this occasion, local authorities proposed that the ambassador introduce and facilitate connections between the province and Thai partners to strengthen relations between the northeastern provinces of Thailand and Điện Biên Province in various fields such as tourism development, agriculture (especially high-tech agriculture), renewable energy, education, and training.

Ambassador Nikorndej Balankura expressed his gratitude to local authorities for their warm welcome.

Affirming the strong relationship between Việt Nam and Thailand, he expressed his interest in connecting Thai organizations and businesses to research and invest in the province, particularly in agricultural product processing.

He also indicated his willingness to connect Thai travel associations with Điện Biên Province to promote the province in the northeastern and northern provinces of Thailand.

The diplomat committed to supporting the province in attracting investment from Thailand in areas where the province has strengths.
