As a leading unit in training within Division 355, Military Region 2 for many years, Regiment 82 is bustling with preparation to welcome new recruits. Officers and soldiers in the regiment are actively improving training grounds, painting and repairing equipment, models, and training tools. This year, the unit is responsible for training 850 new soldiers, organized into two battalions.

Lieutenant Colonel Bùi Mạnh Linh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Regiment 82, stated that the unit identified preparation as a crucial step for training quality. Even before the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday, along with festive activities, the unit strengthened its training staff, constructed detailed training schedules, and focused on preparing models, materials, and lesson plans at all levels. Additionally, efforts were made to promote production to ensure food supplies for new soldiers.
Reportedly, Regiment 82 has repaired and made over 3,000 training equipment, refurbished nine tactical training grounds, seven infantry combat technique fields, 15 unarmed line-up regulation training yards, 23 physical training areas, and four swimming pools. Weapons, ammunition, and equipment have been fully prepared for training, combat readiness, and unexpected tasks.

At Battalion 2 of Regiment 82, all preparations are complete, including barracks for new soldiers. Captain Nguyễn Phú Tình, Deputy Commanding Officer of Battalion 2, highlighted that participating in Division 355’s training preparation competition provided valuable practice and experience.
Lieutenant Colonel Đỗ Quốc Hùng, Deputy Chief of Staff of Division 355, praised Regiment 82’s proactive and thorough training preparations. Checks confirmed that lesson plans and training materials meet 2025 training season requirements, with 90-92% rated good or excellent.

For the provincial armed forces, following the Điện Biên Provincial Military Command’s directives, units swiftly completed final training preparations after the 2025 Tết holiday. This year’s focus is on enhancing the responsibility and competence of training officers.
Hence, the Điện Biên Provincial Military Command’s affiliated sub-commands in district, town, and city levels have actively invested in infrastructure, repaired training grounds, and arranged living conditions for soldiers.

Battalion 1 of Regiment 741 under the Điện Biên Provincial Military Command is set to train 300 new soldiers. Major Nguyễn Văn Hải, Commanding Officer of Battalion 1, shared that the unit has completed staff training, refined facilities, and prepared all necessary materials and lesson plans. Its subordinates have created nearly 250 new training boards and maintained combat training fields.

Senior Colonel Lê Văn Sơn, Commander of the Điện Biên Provincial Military Command, emphasized the importance of material readiness and smooth integration of new soldiers. Regarding Battalion 1, it is required that upon receiving new recruits, the unit must thoroughly understand their ideological status and pay attention to educating them on the tradition of the unit and local area where the unit is stationed.

“The best possible conditions must be created to help new recruits integrate into the military environment and ensure that no serious disciplinary violations occur. Coordination with local health authorities and the provincial Military Command’s military medical team must be carried out to effectively conduct disease prevention and control efforts, including proactive disinfection and mosquito control before new recruits arrive at the unit”, he added.
To date, all military units in the province are ready to welcome new recruits on February 15, determined to achieve high results from the very start.
