Điện Biên Provincial People's Council holds May meeting

ĐBP – On Monday, the Standing Committee of the Điện Biên Provincial People's Council held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of the Provincial People's Council Chairman Lò Văn Phương.

The meeting reviewed the content, schedule and preparation assignments for the 14th special session and the 15th regular session of the 15th Provincial People's Council in the 2021-2026 tenure.

The meeting discussed the specialised supervision report of the Provincial People's Council on implementation of land and forest allocation, issuance of forestry land use right certificates and payment for forest environmental services in the 2019-2023 period in the province. Delegates also gave opinions on the draft report on the results of the 2023 supervision programme of the Provincial People's Council and its Standing Committee; the report on the May performance and key tasks for this June of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and the proposal and draft Resolution for the 2025 supervision programme of the Provincial People's Council.

Delegates agreed on the reviewed content for the session and proposed reviewing the data related to land and forest allocation and the issuance of land use right certificates.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vừ A Bằng proposed adding two items to the special session, including a Resolution stipulating the criteria for establishing Security Protection Teams, the number of members in these teams and the operational conditions for those involved in security protection at the grassroots level in Điện Biên Province; and a Resolution on naming roads and public works in Mường Ảng Town in Mường Ảng District.

In conclusion, Phương requested the Office to coordinate with the committees of the Provincial People's Council and the specialised agencies of the Provincial People's Committee to review and finalise the reports and proposals to be presented at the upcoming session of the Provincial People's Council.

Regarding the 2025 supervision programme of the Provincial People's Council, the meeting agreed to focus on monitoring the supply, management and usage of domestic water for residents in the province.
