In the context of robust digital transformation, the narrative of mastering AI is becoming one of the keys for the younger generation to assert themselves and shape the future.
In Điện Biên, the digital transformation process is taking place powerfully across multiple fields, from state management, education, and tourism to media and e-commerce. Along with the general trend of the whole country, many young people in the province have proactively accessed and applied AI into their daily work.
From wedding photo studios, media units, and tourism enterprises to online businesses, AI is step-by-step becoming a “digital assistant” that supports upgrading labor productivity. However, behind those utilities lies the pressure to continuously learn and innovate to adapt to the development speed of technology.
Having operated for many years in the commercial photography sector in Điện Biên, Nguyễn Thanh Tuyền, owner of Bilo Studio in Điện Biên Phủ ward, considers that AI is creating distinct changes. In the past, each wedding or event photo set required a substantial amount of time for post-production. Operations such as color balancing, lighting adjustments, background separation, or removing redundant details all had to be executed manually. Currently, a lot of AI-integrated software can support performing these tasks at a faster speed.
“AI helps us save a significant amount of technical processing time. There are stages that previously took several hours but now require only a few minutes. As a result, photographers have more time to invest in ideas, shooting scripts, and customer experiences,” Tuyền shared.
However, according to Tuyền, technology also poses new pressures on professionals. As editing tools become increasingly accessible, the boundary between professionals and beginners is gradually narrowing. This forces photographers to elevate their creative capacity instead of relying solely on technique.
“What customers are looking for today is not merely a beautiful photo. They need emotions, stories, and authentic moments. AI can support the technical side, but the artistic perspective and the ability to connect with the subject remain the unique value of the photographer,” Tuyền remarked.
In the media and tourism sectors, the impact of AI is also manifesting with increasing clarity. According to Mai Hải Yến, a marketing employee at Điện Biên with Locals Travel Company, AI is becoming an effective supporting tool in the process of building tourism promotional content. Thanks to applying AI, they can optimize the content production workflow, upgrade communication efficiency across digital platforms, and reach target customers faster.
“Previously, constructing a destination introductory post or brainstorming ideas for a media campaign usually took quite a lot of time. Currently, AI can assist in searching for information, suggesting topics, structuring outlines, proposing keywords, and analyzing customer interest trends,” Yến stated.
However, utilizing AI also poses numerous challenges.
“The biggest difficulty is the risk of content duplication or lacking a unique hallmark. If we rely completely on AI, articles can easily look identical, lacking practical experiences and emotions. Therefore, we always view AI as a supporting tool, while the final content must be verified and supplemented with real local experiences,” Yến added.
For a province that is accelerating the development of tourism, trade, and the digital economy like Điện Biên, equipping youths with digital and AI skills will contribute to forming a high-quality workforce to satisfy development demands in the new phase.
Mùa Chiến Thắng, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, stated: “In the first six months of 2026, Youth Union echelons across the province constructed over 100 sets of digital publications, infographics, and 26 promotional videos and clips. Multiple products applied AI in graphic design, building virtual news presenters and virtual editors to convey information. Consequently, the content has become visual, vivid, and more aligned with the information-accessing habits of today’s youths, while increasing interactivity in the digital environment. Responding to the ‘Popularize AI Learning’ movement, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union also deployed training for Youth Union cadres, members, and young people to participate in online training programs organized by the Central Youth Union on AI application at work. The content focuses on prompt engineering skills and efficiently exploiting platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini…”
“AI is opening up a new era where technology becomes a tool supporting humans to upgrade productivity and job efficiency. What is crucial for today’s youths are knowing how to analyze, create, adapt, and utilize AI to generate their own unique value. Technology can support a great deal of work, but an innovative mindset, mettle, and responsibility remain the deciding factors for the success of each young individual,” provincial Youth Union Secretary Mùa Chiến Thắng emphasized.
It is evident that AI is opening up multiple opportunities for youths of Điện Biên to access global knowledge, upgrade professional capacities, and engage deeper in the digital economy. Yet hand in hand with this is the requirement to continuously learn, innovate mindsets, and master technology. In the competition of the digital era, young people cannot stand outside the AI trend, but they also cannot let technology replace their creative thinking and unique identity.
