Vocational training expands job opportunities

ĐBP - In the context of an increasingly competitive labor market, recruiting enterprises are paying more attention to vocational skills, discipline awareness, and the ability of laborers to adapt to modern working environments. Many laborers in Điện Biên have proactively chosen vocational training, equipping themselves with knowledge and skills to expand job opportunities, raise incomes, and step-by-step stabilize their lives.

Facing the requirements of socio-economic development and the shift in labor structure towards industry and services, laborers are increasingly aware of the role of vocational training. Being methodically trained helps laborers have the opportunity to seek stable jobs.

Currently, the demand for vocational training among youth in rural areas and ethnic minority regions is on the rise. Many pupils and students choose vocational paths that align with societal development trends, among which the automotive technology major at Điện Biên College is attracting significant attention.

Wishing to secure a stable job, Vàng A La from Huổi Chan 2 village, Mường Pồn commune, chose to study automotive technology to equip himself with the necessary knowledge and skills. Vàng A La noted that the learning process involves a lot of practice, and thanks to direct access to machinery and actual repair processes, he feels more confident in his skills and is proactively preparing his knowledge to find a stable job after graduation.

Many laborers have secured stable jobs, step-by-step raising their incomes and improving their standard of living after completing vocational training programs. Bùi Quang Huy from Residential Group 2, Điện Biên Phủ ward, used to study automotive technology at Điện Biên Vocational College. After graduation, he found a job suitable for his expertise and earned a stable income. Bùi Quang Huy shared that after graduating, he found a job directly matching his specialization, which is relatively stable and ensures a guaranteed income. Thanks to being methodically trained and having plenty of practice time, he feels confident in meeting the requirements of recruiting units and is reassured about sticking with the profession in the long run.

To meet the vocational training needs of laborers, Điện Biên College continues to step up enrollment, expand training occupations, and strengthen the connection between training and the practical demands of the labor market. Currently, the school is enrolling and training students in 16 majors at the college level, 22 majors at the intermediate level, and dozens of occupations at the elementary level with training under three months. The school’s training scale reaches approximately 3,500 to 4,000 trainees, pupils, and students each year. Diversifying training occupations contributes to creating favorable conditions for learners to choose majors that match their capacity and societal demands. The training methodology places heavy emphasis on practice and vocational skill training, helping trainees improve their workmanship and increase their adaptability when participating in labor at enterprises.

The demand for labor from domestic industrial parks has opened up additional job opportunities for Điện Biên laborers. Through job counseling and introduction programs organized locally, recruiters evaluate that the young labor source is increasingly well-prepared in terms of knowledge, skills, and working style.

Nguyễn Hữu Hưng, Head of the Recruitment Department of TONGWEI Electronics Co., Ltd. in Hải Phòng city, stated that their company is currently recruiting 500 unskilled laborers and 100 staff for technical department positions in the electronics industry, offering a clean and safe working environment, attractive salaries, and many good welfare policies. Through job fairs organized across Điện Biên province, he noted that pupils and students have been fully equipping themselves with skills and knowledge, enabling them to meet their recruitment requirements.

As the labor market becomes increasingly competitive and enterprises’ requirements grow more demanding, laborers’ proactive approach to learning trades, cultivating knowledge, and training skills and working styles is the correct path forward. When fully equipped with professional skills, laborers will enhance their job-seeking capabilities, gain opportunities to select suitable jobs, generate stable incomes, and step-by-step improve their standard of living.
