Reviewing Vietnamese language training course for Lao international students

ĐBP - On June 30, the Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center No.1 organized a review of the Vietnamese language training course for the 2025 - 2026 academic year for international students from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The event was attended by representatives from the leadership of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and 68 Lao international students currently studying at the unit.

In the 2025 - 2026 academic year, the Center received and provided training for 68 Lao international students under three distinct cooperation programs, which encompassed 42 project-based students, 12 students from the Điện Biên provincial Police Program, and 14 students from the village health class. Supported by 12 teachers directly involved in instruction, the Center actively innovated its training methods, while simultaneously accelerating extracurricular activities and cultural exchanges.

As a direct result of these efforts, 100% of the international students successfully met the Vietnamese language proficiency assessment requirements and qualified for transition to higher levels. Notably, 10 students achieved Level 5 - 6 proficiency, comfortably exceeding the initially set target and further affirming the high quality of training and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The training course was deployed in strict accordance with the Training Cooperation Project between Điện Biên province and three Northern Lao provinces for the 2021 - 2025 phase, featuring an orientation leading up to 2030, alongside tasks assigned by the Điện Biên provincial Department of Education and Training. Equipping international students with solid Vietnamese language skills serves as a vital preparatory step, establishing a firm foundation for the students to pursue specialized majors at diverse training institutions across the province.

Phạm Thúy, Director of the Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center No.1, awards certificates of merit to Lao international students with outstanding academic records.

For the upcoming 2026 - 2027 academic year, the Center has formulated seven core tasks. Exceptional focus will be placed on innovating management work, teaching methods, and examination assessments, alongside building tailored teaching plan contents that match the unique needs of international students. Concurrently, the unit will strengthen inspection, supervision, and evaluation regarding the execution of these set plans.

On this special occasion, the Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center No.1 awarded certificates of merit to 15 Lao international students who demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academic studies and movement activities throughout the 2025 - 2026 school year.
