This year’s Action Month for Drug Prevention and Control takes place against the backdrop of the drug crime and vice situation continuing to develop complexly, particularly in border areas. Organizing the rally demonstrates the firm determination of the police force alongside echelons, sectors, mass organizations, and the entire society in preventing, fighting, and stopping drug crimes and evils.
Concurrently, it raises awareness and responsibility within each citizen regarding the duty to protect themselves, their families, and the community from the scourge of drugs, thereby contributing to constructing a healthy and safe living environment.
Following the national launching ritual, a minute of silence was held to commemorate victims who died due to drugs and the officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the fight against drug crimes. Right after, leaders, officers, soldiers, and the people of Điện Biên responded actively by joining a 1km run on May 7th Road (the 60 m road), spreading the message of living healthily and saying no to drugs.
Also within the program’s framework, mass sports activities took place with approximately 3,000 athletes participating in the response run and competing in the 3km women’s race and 5km men’s race. At the conclusion of the competition, the organizing committee awarded first, second, and third-place medals, along with 24 consolation prizes, to athletes achieving outstanding performances.
