Through job fairs and employment exchange sessions organized across the province, many rural workers, particularly those from highland areas, have gained greater access to suitable job opportunities, helping them gradually increase their incomes and improve their living standards.
In late August 2025, the People’s Committee of Điện Biên Phủ ward, in coordination with No.6 Trading and Construction Co., Ltd., organized the first job fair and labor supply-demand connection day of 2025. The event attracted nearly 1,000 workers from the ward and neighboring communes and wards. At the fair, the company introduced a wide range of recruitment opportunities across various fields, including office administration, accounting, construction, commerce and sales. The event enabled job seekers to learn about recruitment needs and submit applications directly to employers.
Cà Văn Hưng from Quài Tở commune shared: “At the job fair organized by No.6 Trading and Construction Co., Ltd., I saw many job openings, including positions for office staff, accountants, construction and commercial staff, and sales employees. I applied for an office staff position and a specialist role in agriculture and forestry.”
Alongside activities organized by local authorities, the provincial Employment Service Center has also implemented a range of solutions to help workers access labor market information and seek employment. Since the beginning of the year, the center has organized 18 weekly online job exchange sessions connecting businesses both inside and outside the province with unemployed workers receiving benefits and those currently seeking jobs, attracting 306 participants. In addition, 35 mobile job exchange sessions have been held in 17 communes across the province.
Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Director of the provincial Employment Service Center, said: “The center has carried out many activities to strengthen connections between labor supply and demand and help workers access labor market information and job opportunities. Through in-person, online and mobile job exchange sessions held at the grassroots level, workers receive career counseling, vocational guidance and information about recruitment needs from businesses within and outside the province.
“We also focus on bringing job counseling and employment introduction services to remote communes, ethnic minority areas and disadvantaged regions, thereby enabling workers to access suitable employment opportunities and improve their incomes and living conditions,” he said.
In Chà Tở commune, mobile job exchange sessions have attracted strong interest from local residents. Thùng Văn Tín from Nà Én village, Chà Tở commune, said: “By participating in the job exchange session in our commune, we received counseling from officials about available occupations and the income levels for each job. This helps local people gain more information to choose suitable work.”
Expanding job counseling, employment introduction services and labor supply-demand connections has enabled many workers to access appropriate job opportunities, gradually stabilizing their incomes and improving their livelihoods. However, a number of workers still lack stable employment.
In the coming time, local authorities and relevant agencies are expected to further strengthen communication and counseling efforts, expand job exchange sessions and enhance connections with businesses both within and outside the province. These efforts aim to create more employment opportunities and improve income and living conditions for workers.
