New school year in border commune of Sín Thầu

ĐBP - As the new school year approaches, Sín Thầu is urgently finalizing its preparations, from readying physical facilities and stabilizing staff to mobilizing students for class, ensuring a well-ordered and effective academic year.

Driven by proactive leadership from local Party committees, authorities, and schools alongside community partnership, conditions for teaching and learning are steadily being completed, providing a favorable environment for border students to attend school with peace of mind.

In the 2026-2027 school year, Sín Thầu Inter-Level Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School operates 30 classes - comprising 15 primary classes and 15 Secondary classes - serving over 1,000 students. To ensure thorough preparations, the school proactively developed plans, assigned specific tasks to each department, and urgently finalized infrastructure while carefully preparing dining, boarding, and living conditions to ensure a stable, safe, and disciplined environment for study and training.

Principal Lê Bảo Khương stated: Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year was executed strictly according to guidelines from competent authorities. The school completed file reviews, organized admissions screening, submitted recommended rosters, and received approval from the Department of Education and Training under Decision No.649/QĐ-SGDĐT. Over recent days, the school proactively inspected all physical facilities, carried out general clean-ups, and refurbished campus grounds, classrooms, and student service areas. Preparations for the opening ceremony and the inauguration of Sín Thầu Inter-Level Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School are largely completed, ready for this major celebration of teachers and students, heralding an academic year full of hope in the westernmost territory of the Fatherland.

Alongside preparing physical facilities, Sín Thầu Inter-Level Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School places special emphasis on political and ideological education for administrators, teachers, and staff. The school reinforced the dissemination of Party guidelines and State policies and laws, elevating awareness, responsibility, discipline, and professional ethics across personnel. This creates unified awareness and action, fostering a united and dedicated pedagogical team ready to overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill annual educational targets.

These days, Sín Thầu Semi-Boarding Ethnic Primary School is also urgently completing back-to-school preparations for 2026-2027. In the upcoming year, the school will operate 13 classes with 228 students across its main campus in Tả Kố Khừ village and 6 satellite sites. This places high demands on preparing facilities, personnel, and teaching conditions, especially in sites far from the center.

Given its border characteristics, the school determined that early, practical preparation is key to ensuring a stable, safe, and effective academic year. The school concentrated on inspecting and cleaning classrooms, schoolyards, electrical and water systems, and student desks; and preparing equipment, textbooks, and teaching aids according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Nguyễn Thị Minh Hồng, Principal of Sín Thầu Semi-Boarding Ethnic Primary School, noted that enrollment for six-year-olds entering grade 1 has been carried out proactively and in line with regulations. The school surveyed and updated student rosters, closely tracking the situation in each village - especially regarding ethnic minority pupils and disadvantaged children - to promptly encourage and assist them in returning to school on time. The school also reviewed, updated, and standardized data on cadres, teachers, and students, completing management records in digital environments to establish platforms for administrative direction, professional exchanges, and educational technology application.

According to statistics, the entire commune of Sín Thầu currently has 3 schools with 75 classes, over 1,760 students, and 184 educational administrators, teachers, and staff. The school network has been steadily consolidated, and the teaching workforce fundamentally meets task requirements, laying an important foundation for schools to elevate education quality and maintain discipline, especially in this disadvantaged border region.

Đỗ Thùy Giang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Sín Thầu commune, stated that the commune directed schools to review facilities, equipment, staffing, and instructional conditions; and organized summer political training for 100% of administrators and teachers to heighten their awareness and sense of duty. Schools reviewed classroom infrastructure, functional rooms, boarding quarters, cafeterias, collective kitchens, food storage, water and electricity systems, sanitation facilities, and student welfare conditions.

Local authorities and schools also strengthened communication to mobilize students to attend class, ensuring no eligible school-age child is left behind due to subjective reasons, with particular care given to pupils in remote border villages. Admissions evaluations and announcements were concluded on schedule, with schools ready to receive students immediately. Preparations for the 2026-2027 school year opening ceremony at Sín Thầu Inter-Level Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School and other area schools were organized meticulously to ensure a solemn, practical, safe, and cost-effective event, inspiring high spirits for the new school year.

The approaching academic year brings new expectations to the border region of Sín Thầu. From careful facility preparation and staff consolidation to the dedicated involvement of Party committees, local authorities, schools, and community members, all conditions have been established for students to enter the new school year with confidence and excitement. Beyond preparing for the first day of school, these efforts represent an investment in the future, demonstrating commitment to caring for education, establishing a knowledge foundation, and expanding development opportunities for ethnic children on the nation’s frontier.
