National Employment Exchange expands opportunities for workers

ĐBP - Starting from May 13, the National Employment Exchange (trial version) was officially deployed in Điện Biên. Featuring an online platform connecting the national labor market, this model expands employment opportunities for workers, assists enterprises in recruiting personnel, and initially demonstrates positive effectiveness in connecting labor supply and demand.

Following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Home Affairs proactively coordinated with agencies, units, and localities to deploy synchronous solutions to bring the National Employment Exchange into operation. Dissemination, guidance, and support for enterprises and workers participating in the system are conducted regularly through various formats. The exchange aims to strengthen labor supply-demand connectivity nationwide, shaping favorable conditions for businesses and job seekers to access and exchange recruitment details, boosting IT applications in employment sessions, and enhancing recruitment quality while cutting costs for participating parties.

Head of the Professional Office at the provincial Employment Service Center under the Department of Home Affairs Nguyễn Quốc Toàn noted that deploying the exchange establishes a modern connecting bridge between job seekers and employers, allowing workers to access recruitment information anytime and anywhere while enabling businesses to find suitable human resources more conveniently.

Statistics from the provincial Employment Service Center show that 223 local workers have registered on the National Employment Exchange, placing Điện Biên fourth nationwide in worker participation during the trial phase. Additionally, nine enterprises have joined the system, including three corporate employers and six individual recruiters. Although these figures remain modest, they reflect positive signals from the implementation process, showing that local workers and businesses are adapting to the new employment method and leveraging digital utilities.

For many laborers in remote areas, accessing recruitment details previously posed challenges due to geographic distances, travel conditions, and limited information access. The National Employment Exchange narrows those gaps. Tòng Văn Sơn from Búng Lao commune shared that he used to wait for in-person job fairs or rely on acquaintances for job leads. After receiving guidance from center staff on registering an account, accessing recruitment information became much easier, allowing him to search for various job positions across different localities using an internet-connected phone and easily select work matching his skills and needs.

Beyond supporting experienced workers, the exchange enables students and young people preparing to enter the workforce to gain early exposure to corporate recruitment needs. Bạc Tiến Thành, a student at the Thái Nguyên University Campus in Điện Biên, expressed that joining the exchange provides him with labor market insights, job positions matching his major, and corporate requirements, helping him better direct his studies and prepare necessary skills prior to graduation.

Recently, the Provincial Employment Service Center actively coordinated with localities, educational institutions, and enterprises to conduct dissemination and guide people on account registration and system features. Center staff directly assist workers in updating profiles, searching for jobs, and connecting with recruiting businesses. Implementation shows that many young workers adapt swiftly to the digital platform, while several businesses appreciate reaching a broader labor pool compared to traditional methods. Nevertheless, early-stage deployment faces certain hurdles, as a segment of remote workers possesses limited IT skills, telecommunications infrastructure in some areas remains inconsistent, and business participation remains modest relative to potential.

To elevate operational efficiency, the Provincial Employment Service Center will continue stepping up dissemination, supporting workers and businesses joining the system, strengthening coordination with training institutions and local authorities to expand reach, and regularly updating recruitment needs to enhance information quality on the exchange, thereby contributing to expanding job opportunities for provincial residents.
