The surgery was conducted in late March 2026 by a surgical team from the General Surgery Department under the direct supervision of Dr. Lê Quý Tình, Deputy Head of the department. Within approximately two hours and thirty minutes, doctors excised nearly 20 cm of the colon section containing the tumor while performing a colorectal anastomosis using a circular stapler inserted transanally. This method ensures restoring digestive tract continuity, reducing surgical trauma, and minimizing postoperative complications. Currently, the patient is recovering favorably with minimal pain, early mobility, and ongoing follow-up under proper treatment protocols.

Dr. Lê Quý Tình noted that laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer represents a modern surgical trend owing to advantages such as reduced blood loss, lower infection risks, shortened hospital stays, and helping patients return to normal activities early. Mastering this technique, along with synchronously invested vessel-sealing devices, abdominal laparoscopic systems, and specialized digestive stapling tools, has enabled the hospital to treat colorectal pathologies meeting professional standards right at the provincial level.

In emergency resuscitation, the hospital successfully deployed external ventricular drainage with intracranial pressure monitoring for the first time on a severe cerebral hemorrhage patient. The 68-year-old male patient from Sính Phình commune with a history of hypertension was admitted in a comatose state with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 9. Following consultation, the medical team successfully executed the ventricular drain placement. The patient has since regained consciousness, exhibits neurological responses, maintains stable vital signs, and receives ongoing monitoring.

Dr. Trần Hải Phong, Head of the Emergency Department, highlighted that this was the first time the hospital successfully executed intracranial pressure-controlled drainage.
