Ensuring security for festival season

ĐBP - The Điện Biên provincial festival season is ongoing, thus local police force is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety and security.

Following the success of the 2024 National Tourism Year and the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory, the Điện Biên provincial Police Department has been working diligently to deploy comprehensive security measures, focusing on the 2025 Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival and the 8th Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival.

The police force regularly monitors the area to ensure security and order for residents and tourists.

 

During these events, visitors and locals will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Điện Biên province’s 19 ethnic minority groups. They can participate in experiential activities of the military and militia involved in the Điện Biên Phủ campaign; join in traditional games like Xòe dance, Còn ball throwing, Pao ball throwing, and more. The festivals will also feature cultural performances, community activities, and showcases of the region’s unique cultural identity.

To guarantee absolute safety for visitors and locals, the Điện Biên provincial Police have developed a comprehensive security plan, assigning specific tasks to various forces and mobilizing maximum resources, equipment, and personnel to maintain public order and security. This includes ensuring fire prevention and rescue operations.

The provincial traffic police strengthen patrols, controls, and strictly handle traffic violations.

In anticipation of the large crowds expected during the festivals, the Điện Biên provincial Traffic Police Division has proactively advised on and implemented effective measures to enhance traffic safety and order. These measures include conducting surveys and analyzing traffic situations to identify potential hotspots and develop strategies to mitigate congestion; deploying personnel and resources to maintain traffic order and ensure public safety; intensifying propaganda and education efforts to raise awareness among locals and visitors about traffic laws and regulations, promoting a culture of safe and respectful driving; and regularly inspecting and rectifying the conduct of traffic police officers to ensure they maintain a high level of discipline and professionalism while performing their duties.

These proactive measures demonstrate the Điện Biên provincial police force’s commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable festival experience for all.

The Mường Thanh ward Police, Điện Biên Phủ city, remind residents to comply with the legal.

To guarantee public safety during the upcoming 2025 Ban Flower Festival and Ethnic Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival, the Điện Biên provincial Police Department has intensified their efforts. Major Chu Xuân Diệu from the provincial Traffic Police Division stated that police officers are increasing patrols, inspections, and law enforcement to address violations, focusing on: Traffic Safety: Controlling and handling traffic congestion, drunk driving, overloaded vehicles, and modified vehicle compartments; and Public Order: Preventing and resolving complex issues promptly, ensuring no exceptions.

The festivals will take place in various locations, primarily in Mường Thanh ward, Điện Biên Phu city. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Mạnh Toản, Head of Mường Thanh ward Police, stated: The ward police have proactively developed plans and coordinated with the provincial police departments to enhance patrols and control in the area. They regularly disseminate information and remind business establishments to comply with legal regulations; contact and summon individuals showing signs of criminal behavior for deterrence; and simultaneously impose strict penalties according to legal regulations on households and individuals who occupy sidewalks and roadways for business purposes... 

As of now, public safety and order have been maintained. The provincial police have worked closely with other agencies and forces to ensure the festivals’ success, mobilizing maximum personnel and resources to participate in traffic management, communication, and prevention of potential issues such as overcrowding, theft, and terrorism.
