Ensuring rights and benefits for workers

ĐBP - The implementation of the regional minimum wage according to Decree 293/2025/NĐ-CP from January 1, 2026, marks an important turning point in social security policy. In Điện Biên province, with the close guidance of functional agencies and the proactivity of enterprises, the legitimate rights and benefits of workers have been protected to the maximum. This creates a strong motivation for workers to feel secure in labor and production.

At the production workshop of the Điện Biên High-tech Tunnel Brick Construction Material Production Joint Stock Company, the working atmosphere is always busy. Modern lines operate continuously to produce high-quality bricks for construction projects. Equipped with full helmets, clothes, and protective gear, the workers focus intensely on each technical stage.

Trần Thanh Hưng, a kiln technical worker, shared that he has worked at the company for five years. The thing that makes him feel most secure when staying here is that the company always pays salaries, pays insurance, and implements policies and regimes fully and on time. Especially since January 1, 2026, when Decree 293 took effect, everyone has been applied with the new regional minimum wage of VND 4,140,000 for Region III. With his seniority and skills, his current salary reaches VND 10 million per month. A stable income helps him take better care of his family.

The Điện Biên High-tech Tunnel Brick Construction Material Production Joint Stock Company currently has 27 official workers and 70 seasonal workers. Raising wages on time and applying the new regional minimum wage promptly helps workers become more attached to the company. Triệu Thị Hạnh, the Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of the company, stated that the unit always pays social insurance and health insurance fully for workers. From January 1, 2026, the unit seriously implemented the increase in the regional minimum wage according to regulations. In addition to the core team, the company also creates jobs for 70 local seasonal workers with a stable average income of VND 5 to 8 million per month. All are equipped with full labor protection to ensure absolute safety during the production process.

Along with that, the grassroots trade union of the company frequently coordinates with the Board of Directors to organize activities to care for members and workers. They organize visits and encouragement for members when they are sick or for weddings and funerals, while giving gifts to members on holidays and festivals throughout the year. The company organizes shift meals for workers with a level of VND 25,000 per person at the company canteen to ensure nutritional value and food safety and hygiene to strengthen the health of workers.

According to statistics, the entire province currently has 35 enterprises and cooperatives that have established grassroots trade union organizations. Among these, there are 7 grassroots trade unions belonging to state-owned enterprises, 28 belonging to non-state enterprises, and 2 belonging to cooperatives with a total of nearly 3,000 union members. To ensure the new salary policy is not delayed, the Điện Biên provincial Department of Home Affairs advised the provincial People’s Committee to issue timely guidance documents for the implementation of Decree 293/2025/NĐ-CP. This has helped businesses, especially the non-state enterprise block and cooperatives, to quickly grasp the regulatory framework to adjust salary payment plans and social insurance contributions for workers.

The provincial Labor Federation has proactively implemented many programs to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers. They propagate and disseminate the content of Decree 293/2025/NĐ-CP to members, workers, and grassroots trade unions for correct implementation. They direct grassroots trade unions to actively participate with employers in the process of building and adjusting the salary scales and tables of enterprises according to the new regulations. They also strengthen coordination with functional agencies in the area to participate in inspections and supervision of compliance with the Labor Law, Trade Union Law, and Social Insurance Law.

When interests are guaranteed, workers will feel secure and proactive in studying and training to improve their professional qualifications and vocational skills. This is the foundation for enterprises in the area to develop sustainably.
