Attending the meeting were Bùi Minh Hải, Member of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Nguyễn Minh Phú, Member of the provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; representatives of leaders from various boards, departments, sectors, and localities; leaders, reporters, and editors from central and local press agencies, along with a large number of members from the Provincial Journalists’ Association.

Within the framework of the program, delegates watched a television report reviewing the 101-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press and the process of construction and growth of the press in Điện Biên province. Press agencies presented papers and exchanged experiences to improve the quality of information and dissemination work in the new phase.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyễn Minh Phú, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, acknowledged and praised the important contributions of press agencies and the team of journalists to the province’s development over the past years.

He emphasized that central and local press agencies have well performed their tasks of propagating the Party’s guidelines and lines, as well as the State’s policies and laws. They have reflected the socio-economic development and national defense and security situation in a timely and comprehensive manner, while actively promoting the potential, advantages, image, culture, and people of Điện Biên to domestic and international friends. The press has also served as a bridge between the Party, authorities, and the people, contributing to social consensus and strengthening public trust in Party committees and local governments at all levels.

Faced with the demands of the digital transformation era and international integration, he requested press agencies to continue promoting the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, constantly enhancing their political mettle, professional ethics, and expertise. Press agencies need to closely follow the province’s political tasks, effectively propagating economic growth goals, science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, tourism development, and the preservation and promotion of ethnic cultural identities. They should actively encourage new factors, effective models, and examples of good people and good deeds, while fighting against negative manifestations, corruption, waste, and misinformation.

At the meeting, the Organizing Panel presented the 4th Điện Biên province Journalism Award (2025) to authors and groups of authors with outstanding works. Following the launching period, the Organizing Committee received 121 entries for the preliminary round, which included 32 print works, 33 electronic newspaper works, 23 radio works, and 33 television works. Through two rounds of preliminary and final judging, the Final Judging Council selected and proposed the Organizing Panel to submit to the provincial People’s Committee for the recognition of results for 40 outstanding works, including 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 12 C prizes, and 16 Consolation prizes.

The works closely followed the practical political, economic, cultural, and social life of the locality, effectively propagating the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, and the province’s key political tasks. Many entries reflected new models, creative approaches, and advanced examples, while discovering and analyzing practical issues and proposing solutions in a constructive spirit, contributing to creating an additional information channel serving the leadership, direction, and management of levels and sectors.

On this occasion, provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate press agencies on the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The provincial People’s Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives, individuals, authors, and groups of authors with outstanding achievements in organizing the 4th Điện Biên province Journalism Award (2025).
