Effectively implementing youth movements

ĐBP - Harnessing the passionate spirit of youth, youths in Điện Biên province have not been deterred by hardships. They have actively participated in and achieved great results in various youth movements. This has demonstrated the proactive and voluntary role of young people, contributing to the development of their hometowns.

Since early January 2025, dozens of youths from Chiềng Sơ commune (Điện Biên Đông district) have worked together to help the people of Pá Nậm village build a rural road. With each person contributing in their way, the 100-meter concrete road, with a construction cost of VND 30 million supported by the provincial Youth Union, was completed in a short time. The completed project has made transportation much more convenient for the local people.

In early March, youths from Nà Bủng commune (Nậm Pồ district) launched a youth project called “Lighting the Border Road” in Nà Bủng 3 village. The project, funded by the provincial Youth Union with a total budget of VND 30 million, has not only lighted up rural roads but also improved the safety and security in the area.

Đặng Thành Huy, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, emphasized: “With the spirit of proactive volunteerism, youths across the province has actively participated in various youth movements. From 2024 to the present, youth unions at all levels has implemented over 240 youth projects, including 7 provincial-level projects, 34 district-level projects, and about 200 grassroots-level projects. Young people have regularly participated in activities to build infrastructure such as rural bridges, repairing and building rural roads, and renovating cultural houses. They have also joined in campaigns to clean the environment, collect and handle waste, and clear drainage systems. In addition, the provincial Youth Union has mobilized many social resources to support community welfare activities such as giving gifts to policy families, providing free medical checkups, volunteering for unity house construction, and donating blood.”

Every year, youth unions at all levels effectively implements the Youth Month and the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, with practical activities that create a wide-reaching impact and attract many youths to participate. Recently, the provincial Youth Union launched the 2025 Youth Month with the theme “Youths Volunteer for Community Life” and initiated a special competition to celebrate the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

In response to the 2025 Youth Month, youths actively participated in activities to protect the environment, donate gifts to disadvantaged people and students, organize the “Volunteering for Civilized Urban Development” campaign, and carry out various youth projects. To contribute to the success of the Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival of the Ethnic Groups in the province, youths mobilized to clean the environment before, during, and after the festival; beautify the main roads and workplaces; provide free water at festival activity points; and assist in guiding visitors.

Proactively, creatively, and pioneering in the digital transformation process, youths in the province have assisted local people in installing and using applications on smartphones. They also participated in campaigns to promote Project 06, digital identification accounts, and online public services; donated digital devices to people in highland and border areas. youths actively spread awareness about Party guidelines, State policies, and laws; joined in the fight against various types of crime; patrolled and protected the border lines and landmarks; were ready to perform military duties; and worked to ensure security and order in local communities.

With the motto “Where youths are needed, youths are there; where the work is difficult, youths will step in,” youths in the province has eagerly and actively responded to youth movements, regardless of the challenges. Through these movements, they not only affirm their proactive and voluntary role for the community’s well-being but also contribute significantly to the development and growth of their hometown.
