Điện Biên signs cooperation agreement with Hanoi University of Science and Technology in various fields

ĐBP - On the afternoon of March 28, the People’s Committee of Điện Biên Province and Hanoi University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement on human resource training, research, technology transfer, and product development, particularly for the 2025-2030 period.

The signing ceremony was attended by: Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; along with representatives of various departments, sectors, and units.

On the part of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the Director, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Huỳnh Quyết Thắng, led the delegation for the signing.

Over the past years, Điện Biên has dedicated significant resources to implementing and cooperating in the development of science and technology (S&T), innovation, and comprehensive digital transformation across various fields. However, the province still faces some challenges and limitations. Praising the capabilities of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường expressed hope that the cooperation program between Điện Biên and Hanoi University of Science and Technology will lead to breakthroughs in S&T, innovation, and digital transformation for the province. This will improve work efficiency, create unique products bearing the Điện Biên brand, and help the province grow stronger.

In this context, Hanoi University of Science and Technology introduced its S&T potential and cooperation with localities, highlighting the solution for automatic PET image generation from CT images (in the healthcare field) and several other exemplary S&T products from the university.

Based on this, the People’s Committee of Điện Biên province and Hanoi University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with three main content areas: the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare, education, agriculture, natural resources, environment, and tourism; research and technology transfer in advanced technology and innovation in agricultural and forestry products, natural resources and environment, monitoring and forecasting natural disasters; and human resource training and development in management, S&T, education, innovation, and digital transformation. The agreement is valid until March 2030.

According to the agreement, Hanoi University of Science and Technology committed to using its best resources to cooperate with the People’s Committee of Điện Biên province in implementing the agreed cooperation contents in line with the approved plan. This includes meeting the demand for AI applications, advanced technology transfer, and human resource training. The university will assign and ensure expert teams with relevant experience in key fields to build and implement effective projects, proposing suitable technical and technological solutions based on the province’s conditions.
