Điện Biên enjoys socio-economic development thanks to the Party

ĐBP - Through the stages of the revolution, under the leadership of the Party, Điện Biên, a land rich in the tradition of heroic struggle, has risen strongly in the cause of renovation and development.

The clear changes in infrastructure, production, poverty reduction, and the improvement of the material and spiritual lives of the ethnic people in the province have affirmed the comprehensive and consistent leadership of the Party.

Returning to Pú Nhung commune, a former revolutionary base, during the early days of spring, one can clearly feel the spreading joy and a new vitality present in every home. With the attention of the Party and the State, Pú Nhung commune has been prioritized for investment to step-by-step complete essential infrastructure. Projects involving electricity, roads, schools, and medical stations have been implemented synchronously, creating a foundation to promote socio-economic development and improve production and living conditions for the people.

Nguyễn Văn Bách, Chairman of the Pú Nhung commune People’s Committee, shared that by promoting a resilient revolutionary tradition, the Party Committee, government, and people of Pú Nhung commune have united to overcome difficulties and build an increasingly prosperous and happy new life. The former revolutionary base is now wearing a new face, transforming clearly on the journey of building new-style rural areas. To date, the commune has achieved 14 out of 19 new rural criteria, and the poverty rate has decreased to 30.33%.

With a prosperous life, the people of Nà Ín village, Mường Chà commune, have the conditions to teach traditional cultural beauties to the younger generation.

 

Ly Khua Dơ, from Chua Lú village, is proud as his hometown becomes increasingly developed and beautiful. He expressed that thanks to the Party and the State’s investment in building schools and concrete roads, the lives of the people in Chua Lú village have changed significantly. His family has also benefited; by working hard and applying science and technology to corn and rice cultivation, they have achieved high yields, not only escaping poverty but also being able to afford a car, motorbike, and television. Through new, dynamic, and creative methods, the family of Ly Khua Dơ earns an annual income of VND 400 - 500 million.

In just the past few years, Nà Sự village in Mường Chà commune has seen clear changes, taking on the appearance of a countryside in strong transition. Along the poetic and gentle Nậm Bai stream, elegant stilt houses with bright red tiled roofs appear harmoniously amidst the mountains and forests. Excited by the new face of the hometown, the Secretary of the village Party cell, Lèng Văn Hùng, shared that Nà Sự village is now very different from before, and this is thanks to the attention and investment of the Party and the State, along with the consensus and joint efforts of the villagers. Currently, 88.6% of households in the village have permanent or semi-permanent housing, the average per capita income is estimated at VND 34 million per year, the village has no more poor households, and 100% of households use the national power grid.

Visiting the family of Khoàng Thị Tiện in Nậm Chua village, Chà Tở commune, she was busy tidying up her new house. The house is the result of the support program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households, with a support level of VND 60 million, along with the joint contribution of labor from relatives and neighbors. Khoàng Thị Tiện excitedly shared that now that the new house is completed, she sometimes feels like she is dreaming. Living in a solid, spacious, and airy house makes her very happy, serving as a great encouragement for her family to continue developing the economy and building a progressive and happy household.

Over the past years, keeping pace with the whole country, under the leadership of the Party and the attention of the State, Điện Biên province has risen strongly, marking important achievements in many fields. From a locality with many difficulties, Điện Biên has made clear progress in socio-economic development; infrastructure has been step-by-step completed; and the appearance of urban and rural areas is increasingly flourishing. In particular, the material and spiritual lives of the ethnic people in the province have been constantly improved, affirming the effectiveness of the renovation policy and the firm trust of the people in the Party’s leadership.

The provincial economy maintains a good growth momentum compared to the regional average, with an average growth rate of 8.76%; the economic structure is shifting in a positive and sustainable direction. It is estimated that by 2025, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) will reach approximately VND 17,235 billion at constant prices; the average GRDP per capita will reach VND 54 million, an increase of 62.79% compared to 2020. Along with that, the local state budget revenue is estimated to exceed the VND 2,000 billion mark, creating an important resource for development investment and social security.

Along with economic development, the provincial social sector has also seen many positive changes. Currently, 100% of people from poor and near-poor households are supported to participate in health insurance, and over 90% of poor and near-poor households have access to and use hygienic domestic water. Social security policies and sustainable poverty reduction programs are implemented synchronously and effectively; many suitable and practical livelihood models have been replicated, helping people innovate their production thinking and step-by-step escape poverty. The stable and prosperous lives of the ethnic people in Điện Biên province have affirmed the correct leadership and timely attention of the Party and the State. With iron-clad faith in the Party and by promoting revolutionary traditions, Điện Biên will continue to breakthrough and develop rapidly and sustainably, contributing to the nation’s aspiration of building a prosperous and happy country.
