Bridging businesses and job seekers

ĐBP - With an abundant labor force and growing recruitment demand, connecting businesses with job seekers has become a key solution to employment generation in Điện Biên. Through the collaboration of enterprises and the provincial employment service system, many local workers have secured stable jobs, contributing to more effective labor market matching and the sustainable development of the local workforce.

Businesses expand employment opportunities

These days, construction is in full swing at the boarding school project for primary and lower secondary students in Thanh Nưa commune. Hundreds of workers are busy completing various construction works to ensure the project stays on schedule. The project is one of many undertaken by Điện Biên No. 6 Trading and Construction Co., Ltd., which provides regular employment for approximately 200-300 workers.

For Sùng A Phà, from Mường Lay ward, working at the construction site has provided a stable source of income after many years in steel fabrication, formwork installation, and welding. What gives him peace of mind is that the company consistently fulfills its obligations regarding wages and social insurance while ensuring suitable accommodation and living conditions for its employees.

The company currently employs around 850 workers at construction sites across Điện Biên province, the majority of whom are local residents. Since the beginning of the year, workers’ wages have increased by approximately 10 percent. The company also regularly organizes exchange activities among construction teams to strengthen solidarity in the workforce.

Notably, the company is willing to recruit applicants without prior vocational skills. After being hired, new workers receive hands-on training directly at construction sites before being assigned to positions that match their abilities.

According to Nguyễn Trọng Hùng, Head of the Project Department at Điện Biên No. 6 Trading and Construction Co., Ltd., the company regularly adjusts its wage and welfare policies in line with labor market demand. “Income for many positions has increased by 30-40 percent compared to the same period last year. We also provide additional allowances for projects in remote areas and ensure adequate accommodation so that employees can work with peace of mind,” he said.

Alongside local enterprises, new investors are creating substantial recruitment demand in Điện Biên. To implement projects in the province, VinCons Construction Development and Investment Joint Stock Company (a member of Vingroup) recruited more than 2,000 workers in just over one month for positions including masons, formwork workers, concrete workers, mechanics, and welders. Monthly salaries range from VND 14 million to VND 33 million, accompanied by social insurance, accommodation support, and vocational training for inexperienced workers.

After spending 16 years working on construction projects in Vietnam’s lowland provinces, Lò Văn Xuân, from Thanh Nưa commune, decided to return to Điện Biên after learning about VinCons’ recruitment drive. With years of experience, he now serves as an instructor at the company’s training center, directly coaching newly recruited workers.

According to Xuân, stable income, attractive benefits, and the opportunity to work close to home were the key reasons behind his decision to return and build his career in his hometown.

Bridging labor supply and demand

As recruitment needs become increasingly diverse, the provincial Employment Service Center has focused on providing labor market information, career counseling, job placement services, and connecting businesses with job seekers.

Nguyễn Duy Phương, Acting Deputy Director of the provincial Employment Service Center, said the center continues to provide direct counseling services, organize job fairs, and invite businesses to recruit on-site while supplying information on workforce demand, salary levels, working conditions, and employee benefits. “These activities give job seekers access to reliable information and help them choose jobs that match their qualifications and career aspirations,” he said.

Since the beginning of the year, the center has organized one job fair attended by 580 students and job seekers, along with nine online job-matching sessions connecting 11 businesses with around 150 job seekers.

It has also held eight mobile employment conferences in remote communes, bringing recruitment opportunities closer to local residents. In June 2026 alone, the center referred 280 job seekers for interviews with businesses both inside and outside the province, of whom 262 successfully secured employment.

The center has also expanded its use of digital platforms, including its website, Facebook fanpage, Zalo, TikTok, and the trial version of the National Employment Exchange Platform, allowing job seekers to search vacancies and submit applications online more conveniently.

To ensure recruitment information remains accurate and up to date, the center works closely with businesses both within and outside Điện Biên. During the first six months of the year, it received recruitment information from 318 enterprises, offering more than 1,300 job categories with demand for over 26,000 workers, particularly in electrical engineering, electronics, garment manufacturing, construction, mechanical engineering, wood processing, and services.

The center has also strengthened cooperation with employment service agencies in other provinces and cities to broaden job opportunities for local workers.

Through a referral from the provincial Employment Service Center, Lò Thị Hoa, from Mường Phăng commune, successfully applied for a position at VinCons Construction Development and Investment Joint Stock Company. “Previously, I worked as a construction helper with unstable employment and often had to travel far from home. Now that the company has invested in Điện Biên, I have a stable job in my hometown with a reliable income and can stay close to my family. That gives me confidence to build my future here,” she said.

As businesses actively expand recruitment and the employment service system continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between employers and workers, the gap between job seekers and employment opportunities is steadily narrowing. Stable employment not only enables local workers to improve their incomes but also allows them to pursue long-term careers in their own hometown.
