Realizing the resolution, the Health Sector is determined to build a modern, synchronous health system, taking the patient as the center, quality and people’s satisfaction as the measure, while ensuring every citizen accesses safe, fair, and convenient health services.
Recently, the provincial General Hospital timely saved patient V.H.T., 25 years old, residing in Thanh Yên commune, admitted in a state of severe multiple trauma, with a deformed left lower leg nearly severed due to a traffic accident. Diagnostic imaging results showed the patient had moderate left pneumothorax, fractures of ribs 6, 8, 9, 10 on the left side, and a scalp hematoma in the left parietal region.
Doctors at the Department of Trauma - Orthopedics - Burns performed surgery to reattach the severed left ankle limb, pleural drainage, and treated the scalp degloving wound, while transfusing 6 units of blood and blood products, and conducting circulatory and respiratory resuscitation for the patient. After nearly 4 hours of surgery, the patient was alert, responsive, the reattached limb was pink and warm with good perfusion, no paralysis, escaping the risk of limb loss and life-threatening danger.
Patient L.T.H. (49 years old, Na Sang commune) fell from a ladder hitting the nape area two weeks prior to admission. Computerized tomography images of the cervical spine showed a crushed vertebral body and fracture of the posterior arch on the left of the C5 vertebral body with mild compression on the spinal canal at that level, a dangerous injury that could cause paralysis if spinal cord compression worsened. The patient underwent surgery to restore the physiological spinal curve, replacing the crushed cervical vertebra with artificial material (titanium cage) for fixation and reconstruction of a solid spinal structure, with the support of the C-ARM system and bone grinding drill. Post-surgery, the patient was alert, pain was significantly reduced, could sit up and move gently, with physiological functions operating normally.
According to Doctor Trần Đức Nghĩa, Deputy Director of the provincial General Hospital, the hospital has effectively applied many endoscopic surgical techniques and minimally invasive interventions, helping shorten surgery time, reduce post-operative pain, improve aesthetics, and reduce treatment costs. The success of these surgeries shows that the hospital has mastered specialized surgical procedures, gradually affirming its role as the final-line hospital of the province, helping people avoid transferring to the Central level, significantly reducing costs and treatment time, consistent with the orientation that people receive quality healthcare right at the locality.
