The entire province currently has more than 7,100 union members participating in 72 grassroots-level trade unions. With the goal of caring for and protecting the legitimate interests of union members, trade union levels across the province have focused on innovating contents and improving operational quality, becoming a reliable pillar for union members and laborers.
A highlight of trade union activities recently is that the union organization has proactively participated in building and perfecting mechanisms and policies directly related to the rights and interests of union members and laborers. Trade union levels actively contribute opinions to draft legal documents, especially contents regarding wages, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and specific regimes and policies, while offering feedback on programs, plans, and projects of local authorities and sectors.
Annually, 100% of agencies and units organize conferences for officials and public servants; approximately 80% of enterprises host employees’ conferences; and 73% of units hold workplace dialogues. At these conferences, workers directly participate in contributing ideas and proposing amendments or supplements to internal regulations, rules, and collective labor agreements, alongside supervising financial disclosures and policy regimes. Many legitimate recommendations from union members and laborers have been promptly resolved, generating consensus and enhancing the responsibility of employers.
President of the provincial Labor Federation Tẩn Minh Long stated that to build harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations at enterprises, trade union levels regularly monitor grassroots-level situations, listen to, and record the thoughts and aspirations of union members and laborers to resolve issues in a timely manner. This helps prevent labor disputes and strikes, contributing to local political stability and social order and safety.
Regarding occupational safety and health, trade union levels coordinate with employers to improve working conditions and environments for laborers, proactively prevent fires and explosions, and co-launch responses to the “Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health” to build a workplace safety culture. They also join functional sectors in inspecting and supervising occupational safety, health, and fire prevention, as well as investigating occupational accidents in accordance with regulations. Concurrently, they coordinate with agencies, departments, and socio-political organizations to perform monitoring and social criticism roles regarding the implementation of democracy regulations, labor laws on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, and occupational incentive regimes.
To raise awareness among union members, trade union levels have boosted dissemination, counseling, guidance, legal clarifications, and legal support for laborers. Over the past two years, trade union levels have provided legal counseling and assistance to nearly 1,000 turns of union members and laborers regarding severance allowances, unemployment benefits, leave regimes, early retirement, resignation, and occupational accident allowances.
To care for the lives of union members and laborers, trade unions at all levels have deployed programs such as “Tết Reunion”, “Trade Union Tết Market”, “Workers’ Month”, and “Trade Union Shelter”. During the Bính Ngọ Lunar New Year in 2026, trade union levels coordinated with employers to look after union members with a total amount of nearly VND 10 billion.
Female union work has been innovated with various vibrant movements and activities that attract the participation of female members, notably the “Good at state affairs, dutiful at housework” movement associated with the “Building modern women” campaign, the “Women’s Entrepreneurship Festival”, and Ao Dai Week. Cultural, artistic, and sports activities aimed at improving the cultural and spiritual lives of workers, civil servants, and laborers, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, are regularly organized by agencies and units.
By focusing on innovating operational contents and methods and turning strongly toward the grassroots level, trade union activities and the movements of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province have achieved many positive results. The lives of union members and laborers remain stable; the working environment is guaranteed to be safe; policy regimes are implemented fully and in a timely manner; and emulation movements are effectively deployed.
