A season of exams, a season of family companionship

ĐBP - As the final days of May arrive, the atmosphere of revision at schools has become increasingly intense with the 2026 national high school graduation examination approaching. Beneath the late-night study lights of students are the worries, hopes, and silent support of parents. Though they do not sit the exam themselves, they serve as emotional anchors, quietly sharing the pressure and accompanying their children through one of life’s most important milestones.

At Thanh Nưa High School, preparations for the graduation exam are more urgent than ever. For Lò Thị Bảo Ngân, a student in class 12C1, this period is almost entirely devoted to studying as she strives to achieve her dream of entering the national defense and security education program at Hanoi National University of Education. Choosing the C00 subject combination - Literature, History, and Geography - Ngân has maintained a disciplined study schedule to strengthen her knowledge during this crucial final stretch.

Behind her determination is the unwavering support of her family. In their small home in Hạ village, Thanh Nưa commune, every evening after finishing household chores, Ngân’s mother, Lò Thị Hồng, prepares late night meals and reminds her daughter to rest properly to maintain her health. Whenever possible, she sits beside Ngân, listening as her daughter reviews lessons and helping her recall historical events or geography questions to reinforce her memory. Although she does not deeply understand the subjects herself,  Hồng still tries to accompany her daughter in the simplest yet most meaningful ways.

Sharing her thoughts on supporting her daughter through this important exam, Hồng said: “Our family never pressures her about scores. We only hope she does her best. Seeing her study so much and stay up late worries me, so I try to handle all the housework so she can focus on revision. Sometimes she reads lessons aloud to me, and I ask questions so she can remember longer. Whenever she feels stressed, we encourage her so she can study with peace of mind.”

Lò Thị Hồng from Hạ village, Thanh Nưa commune accompanies her daughter while preparing for the national high school graduation examination.

The care and encouragement from her family have become a major source of motivation, helping Ngân feel more confident on her journey toward the exam. Emotionally, she shared: “I feel lucky because my family always encourages me. In the evenings, my mother often studies with me and asks me questions so I can remember the lessons better. Whenever I feel pressured, she reminds me to keep trying every day and assures me that no matter the results, my family will always stand beside me.”

Đặng Mai Phương, a student in class 12C9 at Lê Quý Đôn Gifted High School, has chosen the D14 subject combination of Literature, History, and English. Carrying the dream of becoming a student at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Phương is making daily efforts to achieve her goal. In addition to regular school hours, she has created a scientific revision plan and carefully allocated time for each subject. These days, she often studies late into the night, practicing exam papers and adapting to time pressure while still trying to maintain a positive mindset for the best results. Most importantly, besides her own efforts, Phương constantly receives close care, encouragement, and support from her family, which has become a strong source of confidence during this decisive stage.

Accompanying her daughter throughout the revision period, Nguyễn Thị Kim Oanh from residential group 3, Điện Biên Phủ ward, understands that what students need most at this time is not only academic support but also emotional stability. Therefore, the family always tries to maintain a comfortable atmosphere so Phương can focus on studying. Oanh shared: “She studies a lot, so sometimes she becomes stressed and exhausted. Our family always tries to create the most comfortable environment possible for her. I often remind her to eat properly, rest, and avoid overstudying.”

The 2026 national high school graduation examination will take place over two days, June 11-12. Up to this point, the province has recorded 8,044 registered candidates, including 1,028 independent candidates. The province plans to organize 27 official examination sites. To prepare for the exam, the education sector and local authorities are actively reviewing facilities and examination plans to ensure safety and provide the best possible conditions for students. At the same time, schools continue paying close attention to psychological support and study guidance for students.

In just a few more days, thousands of students across Điện Biên will officially enter this important examination. Behind them stand the dedication of teachers and the trust and expectations of their families. It is this companionship and support that give students the strength and confidence to overcome the graduation exam and open the door to their future.
